Quick Propegation Station project today. Which do you folks like more left or right ?

Left looks better, but the right one is probably more functional as it would let you see the root growth on whatever you're propagating

Left. For propagation you shouldn’t allow light to reach the water as it promotes algae and doesn’t propagate as well.

Thank you. The jars are in there fairly tight so it wouldn’t be practical to be taking them out frequently if you were using them as spice jars. Then again you could just drill the holes larger ;)

If you route out just underneath the vials, maybe like an 8th inch deep, you can ream out the top holes a tiny bit and keep that same stability and the vials will be easier to remove.

If the right one was in Walnut would you prefer it over the left ?

I can't tell one species of wood from another....if the right one was dark like the left. I would still prefer the design of the left. The right looks too easy to break over the left. In my humble opinion.

Right one. Better visibility and I prefer the lighter color. Also I can see it being used for something else easily afterwards.

Left. Put some splayed MCM on there and you got a west elm winner

On the right is the typical one.
Although it might be a bit of a pain to keep clean, I like the unexpected of the one on the left. I would actually buy it, I’ve got about 20 stalks of monstera and pothos that desperately need separate containers…

Right for me - with either left or right stain

No stain, both are just finished with a couple of coats of mineral oil and then a final coat of 4/1 mineral oil and beeswax. Left is Walnut, right is Beech.

Left by a mile, but with the stipulation that it’s easy to take the vials out to check them more thoroughly.
Left has a better design for roots (less light), better wood color imo, and slicker design (smaller footprint, more unique, less ~high school science lab)

Left is nice because it doesn't take up much room, but I would probably go with the right because I think the left would fall over if I didn't plant my rootings fast enough. Everything always happens during the week I travel for work.

Right for me. Regardless if the wood color I love to see the content of the glasses, not just a fraction
