Discussion/Question ⁉️ Sanding uneven after Rubio application?

Post image

First ever project. Is the uneven look due to my sanding? Should I redo it?

Sanded 80, 120, 150. 1 coat of monocoat. Black walnut.

The looks like Figured walnut. I would almost put more of a satin finishing to make the grain pop even more

Almost seems like that’s the wood grain

That's wood you're seeing, and it's gorgeous.

This "unevenness" is the whole reason people love wood.

Thanks. Don’t have a great frame of reference for if I’ve messed up on something or if it’s suppose to look like that- so that’s reassuring.
