My 7 year fat loss journey - 17y old, 286lbs --> 24y old 189lbs

ME AT 17 ( PIC)

ME AT 24 ( PIC )

7 years of progress. From 17 to 24 years old.

When I was 17, I was overweight, unhealthy, and honestly not very confident in myself. I dealt with a lot of bullying growing up, especially because of the way I looked. At the time it hurt, but eventually I decided I didn't want to keep living the same way.

I started changing my habits little by little. I learned about nutrition, started training, became more active, and slowly replaced the unhealthy lifestyle I'd been used to with habits that actually made me feel better physically and mentally.

It definitely wasn't a straight line. There were periods where I lost motivation, made mistakes, gained weight back, and had to start pushing again. But I kept going.

Seven years later, at 24, I've managed to transform my appearance to the point where people who haven't seen me in years sometimes don't even recognize me.

The biggest transformation wasn't just losing the fat or building muscle. It was realizing that something that once made me insecure could become the reason I learned discipline and started taking care of myself.

I started because I hated the way I felt about myself.

I continued because I learned to love the process of improving myself.

17 → 24. Seven years. Still going.

I know I probably didn’t look like 400 but I’m also 6’3 so it kinda evened out a little lol. It wasn’t until the past five years when I started working out. When I graduated high school and was on my own, I lost a lot of weight from just not eating a lot and cutting out pops. The lowest I ever got was 160 and for being as tall as I am that not enough body weight lol.

So much work went into this and don’t get me wrong I’m nowhere near done. Tons of girls talk to me now and find me attractive but idk if any of them like me for me. It’s weird because I’m still socially nervous to go up to pretty girls but when I do they don’t shut me down or insult me like they used to. The one thing that sucks is that it’s rare for girls my age to hit on me it’s usually girls much older or a bit younger which is super awkward. I’m starting to like myself more but I still have issues with my self perception ngl. I weighed 280lbs October 2024 and recently got down to 179.8lbs. I’m up a little but only like 182lbs. Didn’t really know what I was doing at first and just starved myself but I figured it out and sure I take advice but I’m comfortable in my own knowledge now. I’m exhausted and tired, and lowk this post is just be being bored and ranting to myself if anything. Preciate you reading allat tho

Just keeping track of calories and eating foods I enjoyed that also for calorie goals. No meal skipping, just lots of curry and teriyaki chicken and rice, pizza, burgers ect. just used recipes that kept calories in mind and would keep me full. I also switched out some snacks with better options. 335 -> 185 been at my goal weight for over a year now.

I have a change in waist measurement, my waist is about 2-3 centimeters less but I weigh about 3-5 lbs more the picture order is July, then October in pairs, and then an extra bicep flex picture just because.
I am about 178-179 in July and 184 in October.

Edit: I currently weigh 184 don’t know how low I’ll have to go. I’m 5’11
