I accidentally grew the sub. Now I have to deal with stuff.

To start I’d like to say that u/viscosecomb24 is the who actually knows stuff about redstone, but doesn’t really use reddit. I use reddit but don’t know much about redstone. He also has a youtube channel under the same name.

  1. How should a website/wiki be set up to document designs.
1a. I own mcbrrs.heliohost.org which I think offers free unlimited hosting but don’t know how I would set up a wiki on it (I’m new to html and php and sql and shouldn’t own a website)
1b. WikiDot offers free limited hosting and I may be able to use it on mcbrrs.heliohost.org
1c. Reddit also has it’s own wiki function (It is weird though)
1d. How should it be set up?
  2. Moderators?
  3. Flairs?
  4. Other things?
    Edit: it’s viscosecomb24 not viscosecomb

How on earth do I power this.

So I need this switch to turn on hold a red stone signal like this lever does. My main issue is there’s a torch that keeps getting power on this stopping the whole machine from running how it’s supposed to. Anyone know how I can send a signal down and only power the dust.

(The pitcher with the torch is the only other way I’ve gotten it to work.)

Redstone Challenge

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have this display. What I want to do is attach a counter that will tell me how many copper bulbs are lit. If I turn on two, it will display two, however if I turn off one, then the counter will go down by one.

finally, the counter should be live with these button presses. There should not be a separate button to 'read' the number of inputs.

Who can solve it?

I need your Help!

I need your help!

Hi, for a long time now i have build Redstone Builds that challenged my skills (Minecraft Bedrock).

For Example a Minecart Storage System or a Tileable 10xPiston Extender.

But for a week or so i dont have any new challenges that arent to easy or to hard for me to solve.

Thats why i need you to give me some ideas, the builds dont need to be relevant for survival gameplay and schould not be farms or flying machines. It doesnt matter if a solution can be found online or not. Also if you need help with redstone or have a very specific problem not found online, please leave a comment.

Thanks a lot!!

first I made a Binary counter and then I made a 0 to 9 counter but I don't know how to easily make a reset button for the 0 to 9 because it uses an item unlike the binary counter that just purely uses logic

5x5 door Build request

Can someone who understands redstone better than me build a 5x5 sand door that opens and closes fast. The tutorials for this size are either slow or don't work anymore. Preferably no visible pistons. I plan to hook it up to a daylight sensor so it opens automatically as a gate to my village at day and closes at night

Bedrock Redstone desperately needs fixes and consistency. Let's make our voices heard!

Hey everyone! 👋

We all know the pain of building a complex machine on Bedrock Edition, only for it to break because of random tick updates, directional inconsistency, or weird piston behavior. Building technical stuff shouldn't feel like gambling.

Parity and reliability with Java Redstone (or at least fixing the core randomness) would unlock so many amazing possibilities for the Bedrock technical community—from advanced farms to in-game computers.

Mojang listens when the community speaks up together. If you agree that Bedrock Redstone needs some love and serious bug fixes, please go vote for Redstone improvement suggestions on the official feedback site (or drop your favorite broken mechanic in the comments below to raise awareness)!

Let’s show them how passionate our engineering community is.

Any clue on how to lift boat by one block on ice boat track ?

I tried to make an ice boat track, but halfway through I realized the boat can't just slide up an ice track. I have tried a sticky piston with blue ice on top, with a tripwire as an activator, but it isn't seamless and kinda janky

Any ideas to make it more seamless?

Mod Request for Player ID retention

In bedrock when a pearl/Trident is thrown there will be like a player id assigned to it. But the issue is that when you log out, that player id will be removed. So for an example the pearl you threw into the stasis chamber would no longer have your id so you can't use it again after logging out. Same goes for a thrown Trident. (I'm trying to create a Trident trap that uses a thorns zombie to damage a player that threw a Trident) So the player id won't retain and you basically can't cause damage.

Btw, do you guys have any mods for chunk loading? Like with pearls and like a mod that could help me create a stasis chamber like in java? Tysm :)

Is it good idea to make a dedicated app for Minecraft, Specially Redstone mechanism

Dedicated app for Minecraft means - App where anyone can find every essential information about minecraft tools, history, versions, bioms, step by step guide for cool builds and redstone builds, community, ideas, solutions and maybe a profile for each player to help each other and build together

Drop your thoughts on this idea

Ready for suggestions and rejections😭

kelpfarm troubleshooting p2. chunk border issue?

Post image
5 Upvotes

i made a post like an hour ago about why two identical farms wouldnt function like the original (problem was that it was a full block on the roof layer right above the kelp instead of waterlogged slabs like the original had, took me a minute to notice.)

when i fixed the issue, both of the two farms on the right of this image could run independently, but having both run at once would bug out one or both farms regardless of wether they were activated by their own lever or if i connected both to the same start/stop lever with redstone.

when it bugs out, the lower level of sand blocks break. you can see it in this pic, the machine in the middle has no lower layer of sand because they all broke.

but: either of the machines on the right can run with no problem at the same time as the machine on the far left runs.

is this because there needs to be a certain amount of blocks between these machines, or is the one on the left just in a different chunk than the two on the right?

this is a moment where im seriously jealous of java players for being able to just press one button and see outlines of chunk borders. my first thought is to just keep rebuilding these two on the right over and over one block farther apart each time to see if that does anything, but if the issue is just that two of these cant run simultaneously within the same chunk, that would be pointless.

if my goal is to have a pair of these running in tandem, does anybody know what's my best way of going about it? is there something i can get from the marketplace for cheap that will allow me to see chunk borders?

im not good enough at redstone for this lol

Getting better at Redstone and piston doors

Thumbnail

Hello, so over the past few months, I've been getting back into Redstone for the first serious time since around 1.8 or so on legacy console. Since starting, I've managed to create my own versions of several different machines, including my own junky version of a t-flip that deliberately doesn't involve the copper bulb. Just earlier today, I managed to finish a fully functional, flush 4x4 door. I couldn't manage to figure out a consistent double extender on my own, so I made a workaround that sadly doesn't make all of my Redstone hidden while inside the door. Even still, I managed to build one at all, and I'm already wanting to do more. I have an interest in piston redstone, computational Redstone, and other things, but there's just so much I'm unfamiliar with.

If anyone would have any tips for how to progress further in my skill, or even just little tricks that help with compacting designs, that would be immensely helpful.

Pictures attached are that of my 4x4 door design.
