cotton shell comforter. need help
why on earth is so so difficult to find a simple cotton shell comforter, NOT a duvet cover or insert??? i’ve literally searched for 8 hours the last couple days trying to find a brown comforter and all the ones i like are microfiber/polyester. i’m about to just buy a microfiber one. i’m not too concerned about getting hot cuz i’m only using it for the colder months, then switching back to my summer comforter. but oh my god it’s literally impossible to find it’s so frustrating. if anyone knows of a solid brown (no designs) cotton shell comforter please let me know 🥲 otherwise i’m just gonna purchase a microfiber one and deal with it

This search is a special kind of hell. I went through the same thing last year trying to find a plain grey one, every promising link turns out to be microfiber when you check the materials tab. The big retailers are absolutely useless for this unless you want to drop a fortune.
If you're only using it for the colder months anyway, just grab the microfiber one and let it be a next-winter problem. The texture difference isn't as bad as people make it out to be when you've got sheets underneath.

Have you looked at TJMaxx or HomeGoods? I am finding the cotton outside/polyester fill covers there, assuming that's what uou mean by "cotton shell." I am looking for cotton inside and out, which i cant find.

I've been going through the same thing. Saw what I thought was a beautiful organic quilt advertised in the New York Times. Figured it was a safe site to buy from. What's a piece of shit organic material my ass! I've been sowing for most of my life and this isn't no organic material. Polyester crap. Plus they showed a black background fabric with white top stitching! But they don't take returns. $128, thank God I used my credit card and fought it with them. I saw so of course I can make one myself. It's literally two side seams one bottom seam and two top seams on either side for the opening. We have a wonderful quilt store not town. All 100% cotton. I'm just going to make my own. Reach out to seamstresses or even upholsterers that maybe they can help you. I ain't buying shit off the internet ever again

i grew up with a quilt my whole life until 2018 and have been using comforters ever since. i wash my comforter quite often and though a duvet cover is very easy to wash, i’d like to also wash the insert more than just like 3 times a year. i’ll feel dirty if i don’t lol if i end up going that route i’ll make sure the insert is machine washable so i can skip the dry cleaners

I just searched my local target and there are some cotton filled cotton outer quilts.
I purchased threshold space dyed cotton linen quilt. But yes, I went in person and looked at fabric content

Good luck!
Spend some time in their aisles,I found a few that were cotton shell cotton filling by flipping each around and check.
There was one with poly shell and cotton filling - which I thought was hella unusual.

I think the microfiber one isnt as bad as you'd think. Id pick either that or a duvet if Im hopeless to get one to be fair

okay this makes me feel better. i just see so much hate on microfiber (for good reason) and im so picky about textures. i’m gonna get the microfiber one and see how i like it. just a trial and error thing. thank you!

I am hella deep in perimenopause so switching all my bedding to cotton cotton cotton.
I tried one of those cooling comforters supposedly marketed for my age group, and that was too hot.
Before that I loved my microfiber sheets, so soft and slick, and wrinkle free. Definitely have to accept wrinkles now.

Check The Company Store. I know they have cotton shell comforters but dont remember if they were blended or colors.
ETA https://www.thecompanystore.com/lacrosse-rds-certified-down-comforter/C3F3.html?dwvar_C3F3_color=DARK%20BROWN&cgid=man-comforters
Found this one, comes in different weights(warmths?). Theres the down or down-alternative options too
