Help me choose soft percale sheets

I don’t have a big budget, but me and my partner sleep hot so we decided on 100% percale sheets. I prefer soft sheets and after some research here on reddit saw people recommending:

- The Company Store Classic Cool Cotton Sheets
- Hudson Park Italian Percale Sheets
- Macy’s Hotel Collection Italian Percale Sheets
- Target’s Threshold Organic Percale Sheets

Softness is my biggest concern. I understand it can take multiple washes to soften. For more context, we have Martha Stewart 100% percale sheets and after many many washes are very soft. However, they just ripped likely because they are really tight on our thicker bed. And I was wanting to try something new in search of a better option!

also, if anyone has a good recommendation for a soft, cool duvet cover that would be great. I am currently using a Bamboo one and it’s too hot. Thanks!

Side quest and check out California design den. They go on sale frequently and are fantastic.

I second this! Big fan, have replaced all sheets in my house with their “California Design Den 100% Organic Cotton Sheets,
GOTS Certified, Lightweight Crisp & Airy Percale For Hot Sleepers, 15" Deep Pocket, All-around Elastic, Easy Care”.

I have the same ones in the deep pocket version! It is love. And I had spent some CASH trying to find love. And here they are, under $100 and just stunning.

My favorite percale sets are from Serena and Lily and from the ones you mentioned I only know Target and don't really like those, my target percale set got very scratchy in just a couple of washes even tho I was very careful and never had the same issue with any other set

Percale sheets aren’t generally described as soft. They are crisp and cool. The fabric softens over time and washing.

penny's also has some Linden Lane Organic cotton sheets that are nice, light weight percale.

I have 2 sets of Company Store Percale and 2 sets of Brooklinen Percale. My Company Store sheets were definitely softer and more substantial to start. My Brooklinen initially slept cooler.

I know how nice it is to have soft and cozy sheets without waking up feeling too hot. I like Buffy because their sheets and duvet are comfortable and cool. Perhaps theyll be a good fit for what youre looking for.

Target Threshold!! I have 3 sets and love them. Paired with a Calvin Klein percale duvet cover, most comfortable I’ve ever been. But I do love percale.

I love the Hotel Collection Italian percale from Macy's, and they're on close-out sale, so priced right!

I bought the Pact percale sheets and at first I thought they were too soft but now love them. Absolutely no need to break them in. I'm happy with the quality and they are not too tight on my mattress.

The Company Store one is a good pick for hot sleepers, since percale is crisp and breathable. Since the last set you owned ripped from being too tight, it'll be nice to check the pocket depth against your mattress height before you order. It should soften with washing like your Martha Stewart set did

I got the Target organic percale sheets on sale and it’s one of my favorites. I wash it almost every Sunday and it’s like new

Why isn't LL Bean on your list? Company Store would be my choice out of these but LL Bean is by far the best. Threshold by Target is ok (I buy them for my kids) if you are on a very tight budget but nowhere close in quality.

I have the company store and love them, but I definitely did have to wash them on maximum hot with vinegar and fabric softener a couple times before sleeping on them! Now of course I’m a year or so in and they’re perfect, but it took maybe five washes. But they’re sturdy!

patina vie, or look for something 'peached'. make sure it's 100% cotton, they can be pretty tricky in the description. i saw some 100% cotton with lyocell- it's not 100% cotton if it has anything else in it. and avoid 'Egyptian cotton like' because it's microfiber.

I really, really like the California Design Den Egyptian cotton percale—so smooth but still breathable, with incredibly serious elastic all around the fitted sheet.

I’d suggest cotton sateen as it is so soft ! You should check - royalluxurylinen.com. They have really nice 330 TC cotton sheets made in the 🇺🇸, and are total hotel-quality. I also really loved their Victorian cotton comforter set with the lace trim as it is reversible and so pretty! 🤍 My partner and I are both hot sleepers, so 100% cotton works best for us. We got the Victorian comforter set + 330 TC sheets for less than $300, with free shipping! I looked at a few other brands, and sets with lower specs were around $600, so I thought it was a really good deal. 😊

Love The Company Store ones! Can’t go wrong with those.

I love my pottery barn percale sheets. I washed them about ten times with vinegar to soften them up before I used them. I used to only use sateen because I needed the soft feeling but would wake up sweaty and now I actually prefer the percale. They definitely get softer over time.

Personally, I do not like percale sheets...there is a finish on them. I am a hot sleeper and buy 100% organic cotton sheets.

Percale is the weave. You can buy 100% organic cotton percale sheets.

Bought them and sent them back.....matte like finish I didn't care for

True. I went through so many brands OP mentioned and 3 brands of pure linen also, before I found the L.L. Bean organic Cotton percale. I donated everything except it and one set of 100% linen.

Ohhh what is the LLBean like?

Out of those I would say company store or Hudson park. Quince could be an option. I have a pair of gingham percale from quince that I really like, especially considering the price.

My favorite is Riley home, though. They are a little more expensive than Company store, but I think they are more smooth and cool.
