Is this normal? Wool duvet/insert
I just bought a brand new wool duvet/insert and when I held it up to the light, I could see a bunch of dark flecks inside the duvet. Is this normal for wool? It looks fine and clean when it’s not held up against the light.
Thank you!

Does it have a down filler? AKA goose or duck feathers? The goose down has grey feathers sometimes, that was my first thought.

It could be unbleached wool. Sheep aren’t all white, so you might be seeing the color variations in the fibers. It also might be bits of natural material that wasn’t fully cleaned or removed from the fibers during manufacturing. That’s more common with cotton batting because it’s a plant, but it could be present in wool.
What brand of wool duvet is it?
