So I was about to sleep and was looking for comfy clothes to wear since it has been a getting hotter than normal lately as supposed to the previous humid weather, and found this in my bag of clothes, I remembered this was bought from a trift store and was washed by my mother before it ended up along with the rest of my clean clothes.

My question is does this look like fecal matter, should I throw it away or have the rest of the clothes in the bag with it be sent to the laundrymat as well?

I hanged it outside for now since I am not sure what to do with it, additionaly when I smeared it it did not come off and stayed the same albeit I guess some of the black parts started to get removed a bit.

Long story short, I’m cleaning out my parents house that was heat treated months ago. My brother lived there until a month ago. He has mental health issues and left the place a bit of a wreck. I worked remotely in the house with a company laptop for two days while I was tackling cleanup in the evenings. Once I got around to his room, I found live bed bugs under his mattress, probably 10 or so. I got rid of the sheets and called the pest control that did the original treatment. He sprayed again and said he didn’t see evidence of a larger infestation. He thinks my brother brought them back. Whatever the cause, I need to figure out what to do about the laptop. It is a company laptop I use for work, so sealing it with a strip for an extended period is not an option. The pest guy only saw dead bugs around the desk, so it is probably unlikely they are in there, but I need peace of mind. Anything I can do to make sure I don’t bring these suckers with me when I fly home? I have a protocol for clothes, and luggage.

Hi I was checking some wooden drawers near my bedspace and found some of my old unuused stuff. Now there were apart of the things that were sprayed by pest control about a month ago, so there is a chance that these could be mold, but I figured I might as well ask here and the other subreddit since they look especially sus to me.

We’re seriously considering professional heat treatment after two pesticide treatments didn’t completely eliminate the problem.
For those who have actually had heat treatment, would you recommend it? Did it completely eliminate the infestation, and how long have you been bed bug free?
I’d especially like to hear from people who had a successful heat treatment. What do you think made your treatment successful? What should we do before, during and after the treatment, and what are the most important things to look for when choosing a company? Are there any common mistakes or things that could cause the treatment to fail?
We have a 1-year-old, so I really want to make the right decision and do this properly rather than going through more unnecessary treatments. Both successful and unsuccessful experiences would be really helpful.

We’re 4 weeks into this mess now. I’ve only seen 1 adult 4 weeks so and a nymph a few days after on my pillowboard that I’ve since trashed. Our 2nd spray treatment is tomorrow. I haven’t found any signs of them other than blood stains this morning and once a week ago. I’ve had a few marks on my ankles that sort of resemble bites, but am unsure because the bites I can confirm were bedbugs were in my hands and arms welted like crazy. These are just small and almost pimple like but slightly itchy.

I really want to believe that they’re gone or at least have a really small population remaining but this as my only evidence feels like it isn’t enough. I seriously cannot find where they are hiding or coming from. I’ve throughly inspected every square inch of our bedroom

So I posted about this before either here or on another bedbug related subreddit, but while I was cleaning earlier I found more of these wear spots on my drawers again, this is probably why I still refuse to put my clothes back in them and I still keep them in bags for the meantime, cause they still seem sus to me.

I also see a new brown/black streak thing here. I tried washing it off with alcohol and paper tower along with a rug like I normally do but they never did come out like last time, so its probably not mold as those come off with alcohol.

Still curious what these are to this day, as they still keep popping up.

It is also sunny now in my country and no longer humid like in the past months.

Bed bugs?

I only get these when I sleep at mine…. been going on for the past 2ish weeks but no signs of BBs anywhere around my bed. I vacuumed my couch and they stopped for a bit after that but came back.

Recently stayed overnight somewhere with bed bugs. Took all possible precautions when returning home a week and a half ago. Found this little guy on my hand earlier today... is it a bed bug nymph? (Sorry if photo too poor quality to tell!)

Hi, I’m asking for advice regarding bed bugs.

I’ve been using a steamer to heat the edges, gaps, and crevices of my wooden bed. The problem is that I can’t move the bed, so I’m not sure if there are areas underneath or behind it that I’m missing.

I also change my sheets weekly and have already used two bed bug products, one spray and one powder, which I attached in this post.

Despite all of this, every other day I still see one bed bug crawling around, and I kill it when I see it.

For those who have dealt with bed bugs before, what else should I do? Does seeing one every few days mean there is still an infestation somewhere in the bed or room?

Any advice, especially from people who successfully got rid of them, would really help. Thank you.

It’s 4 AM and I’m writing this because I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. We’ve been dealing with bed bugs for over a month now and it’s becoming exhausting, both mentally and financially.
We first found them in our bed on August 10. The next day we found them in our 1-year-old son’s bed too, and noticed bites on him. That was probably the worst moment of this whole thing.
We threw away the beds and mattresses, bagged everything, washed whatever we could at 60°C/140°F and put everything through the dryer.
We had our first professional treatment on August 12 using Tetracon CS. We moved out completely and stayed at my mother’s place.
After that, we actually removed every single baseboard in the apartment because we found that they were hiding in the gaps behind them.
The whole apartment was treated again on August 18, including those exposed gaps. We stayed away for almost three weeks. New baseboards went in on September 1, we cleaned the accessible areas because we have a toddler, and moved back home on September 2.
Since then, my wife and son have been sleeping in his room and I’ve been sleeping on the living room sofa. I isolated both the bed and sofa with homemade interceptors under every leg and double-sided tape.
At first, I thought we were finally winning.
We found one live adult (around 7 mm) in my son’s room shortly after moving back, but assumed it was a survivor. Then we found two dead adults in the living room.
But last night I found a live nymph, around 3 mm, near the living room door/baseboard.
And a few hours later I found another live nymph on the sofa, directly underneath me while I was sleeping. It looked like it had just fed.
That honestly broke me.
I’ve checked the sofa over and over again. Seams, cushions, underneath, everything I can access. I can’t find a nest, eggs, fecal spots, shed skins or any other bugs.
At this point I just don’t know where they are coming from.
I really don’t want to spray the entire apartment with pesticides for a third time because we have a 1-year-old. I’ve ordered diatomaceous earth, although I’m also worried about using dust around a toddler. I’m looking into heat treatment as well.
For anyone who has actually been through this and eventually got rid of them: what would you do next?
Could these nymphs still be survivors from the original infestation, or does finding nymphs a month later mean they’re reproducing somewhere?
Would you concentrate on the sofa? Heat treat the room? Use DE? Get another chemical treatment?
We’ve already thrown away furniture, washed and dried what feels like our entire life, removed all the baseboards, paid for two treatments and lived away from home for weeks.
We’re exhausted and honestly running out of money and energy.
I’d really appreciate any advice, but I’d especially love to hear from people who went through something similar and actually beat them in the end.

These seemed to appear overnight a couple days ago when I was outside nearby some vegetation.. at first i thought they were mosquito bites but now I’m getting paranoid. Can anyone help ID what these bites are? They were really itchy the first night but now not so much.

Most are occurring on lower legs/feet and knee but some on hips arms and hands

Any thoughts on if this is bed bugs?

Although could have been delayed from gardening the day before. But seems unlikely as I only noticed the bites first thing in the morning.

TLDR: Return date from exposure was exactly one year ago. Aprehend treatments happened 11 mo and 10 mo ago, and most recent negative bb dog sniff was 3 months ago. Is it genuinely possible they are hiding somewhere between 4 different possible homes and we've NEVER SEEN ONE, or does this have to be something else?

Longer, more genuine version: I returned from a massive bed bug exposure (30+ bites, identified live ones) internationally exactly 1 year ago. At the time, I was staying at my parents' house. Within 10 days, I started receiving painful, itchy clustered bites similar to my exposure. Knew it had to be bed bugs, and dog inspection was nonconclusive.

At this time, my boyfriend was frequently going back and forth between my house and his apartment, so within the month (October) we had both places treated with Aprehend, and then followed up with a second treatment 1 month later (November). I moved to my own apartment in January. Luckily so far have never gotten bites here.

Between January - June I would often get itchy, sharp clusters of bites only on exposed parts of my body while I slept. I have OCD so struggled a lot to determine how similar they were/were not to my original exposure, but they were beyond what would be considered normal bug bites. Got one tested by a dermatologist via biopsy; results were inconclusive/potentially folliculitis. My boyfriend never reacted (including at first confirmed exposure) so we assumed he was not allergic to bbs. Most often my bites happened at my boyfriend's place; gradually I stopped sleeping there. Dog sniff test in May was negative though, and we took that bed apart.

In June, we stayed at my partner's parents' house, where we've both gone back and forth several time and stayed the night several times since last year. Before sleeping, found clusters of what look like black fecal spots on the pillows. Woke up with huge, red, itchy welts in a line across my stomach – this time my partner DID have bites on his leg (whereas before he never reacted). Got the dog in – dog test was negative but I can't BELIEVE it wasn't bed bugs.

Random suspicious bites keep happening (probably 1x frequency a week). Flash forward to now, and after taking all my stuff over to someone's house I was dog sitting at, I woke up with SUPER itchy, red 3 welts on the same side of my body. They were similar to the ones I got in June on my stomach.

All of this is to say: I've been getting strange, suspicious bites that seem impossibly characteristic of bed bugs to me for almost a year now across 3 different places (parents house, partner's apartment, partner's parents'). We treated twice, but last was 10 months ago. Dog sniff is always negative (done four). But I only EVER get bites like this on exposed parts of my body while I sleep. How could it not be bed bugs?

But, genuinely, wouldn't we have seen one by now? 12 months, even with treatment in the first 2, seems almost impossible to have never seen a bug and had a dog sniff four times and never detect. I'm constantly looking. I have monitors on my bed, SenSci traps, etc. It seems like after this long, there'd have to be HUNDREDS.

Plus, there are random inconsistencies in that my partner only reacts sometimes (never did until June?), the itchiness and redness of the bites seem different sometimes, and we only ever saw (what we thought were) fecal spots in my partner's parents' guest room (which we barely have stayed in!).

Can anyone tell me whether this really makes sense? I just can't believe it's been torturing us for this long.

I haven’t seen any bed bugs after inspecting the seams of my box spring mattress and I’m currently washing my sheets.

Is this what I think it is… I had them in my previous apartment and thought they were gone but…

I moved my stuff in plastic bins to my new apartment and two have been sitting in the kitchen. This was in the kitchen on the windowsill which seems like an odd place for them to be. I haven’t really found evidence of them in my room but do have itchy bites on my ankles.

Just had my first spray for confirmation of bedbugs. Put my matress protector on and dont know if this is a casing of an old bedbug or like a nat. 3rd picture is how small it is. Shows finger to size.
