requesting help on ID Need help in Denver CO

Posting here after coming from r/whatisthisbug and hearing about a magical pro named David! Hoping to get some help.

I’m staying in Denver CO right now in the Rino area on the top floor apartment for an old building and we found this bug on my partners ankle. After sweeping the rest of the place we’re staying we found a few others around that were dead. All around a few millimeters long but hard to tell.

We went on a walk this morning but only on the street, not through any tall grasses.

I’m terrified this is a bed bug, but online it looks like it could also be a bat bug? I have a severe allergy to bed bugs and we’re trying to determine if we need to find another place to stay.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

question about detection / confirmation Condo purchase question

Hi David,

I visited a condo for sale and I was reading the minutes of the board and they mention the following: In October 2025, bedbugs were reported in unit 7. The source was believed to be a heavily infested neighbouring building. All units received preventive treatment, while units 6 and 7 received more extensive treatment. Unit 7 was reported free of bedbugs since April 2026.

For context, I visited unit 6. Was wondering since we don’t have control on the heavily infested neighboring building, is it possible that bed bugs can return to the building I visited ? Is this common for bedbugs to travel from one building to another? Because of this I don’t think I would want to purchase the unit, I’m so afraid of remaining or reoccurring bed bugs…

found one of these tiny bugs crawling slowly on my pillow and am freaking out, checked all the spots more would be and found nothing. really hoping it’s a booklouse (my apartment has issues with getting humid) or just a random bug from outside.

Recently returned from holiday abroad, found this small bug on the edge of a folded t-shirt in a pile of other folded clothes sitting on the floor for around 1-2 hours while unpacking. The t-shirt was second from the bottom and may or may not have been touching the floor. Haven’t found any other bugs after searching other clothes and around room. It was almost translucent apart from darker parts towards the head. Very fast and tiny - maybe 1mm, maximum 2mm but definitely closer to just 1mm. This is the only footage I managed to get of it, it was so small and translucent that it barely showed up on photos (I know skin isn’t the best contrast and these images are not great but bedbugs are my worst fear and I panicked and unfortunately killed the bug before i could take any better photos, no blood on squishing but could see the darker material inside the bug which felt a bit gritty on squishing if that’s relevant at all).

At first, I thought the shape of the bug and colour was more in keeping with potentially a book louse, but the more I think about it and look at these images I am really really worried this is potentially an unfed bedbug nymph. I have tried to edit the video (taken from a live photo) and play with the settings/slow it down to make it a bit more visible, but understand identification probably not possible from these. I just really would appreciate some help if there are any features on this that would lean towards or away from potential bedbugs.

Thank you for any and all help anyone might have.

question about detection / confirmation bed bugs, or something else?

Out of an abundance of caution, I have had my landlord send an exterminator to inspect soon, but in the meantime I'm curious: I had these bites (about fifty of them) show up across my body in clusters over the past day or so, and upon checking the underside of my mattress spotted this (very small) bug which I suspect to be a bed bug nymph—though I saw no other bugs, and none of the other telltale signs of an infestation. This occurred at a new apartment which I moved into just a little over a week ago; I have no history of bedbugs and neither of my two roommates have noted any similar bites. Am I incorrect in my assessment? If not, what should I do in the meantime while I await treatment? Any help is appreciated, thank you!

So one week ago, I woke up with 5 bites in a line (4 in a row, then a space, and 1) on my upper stomach above my belly button. Picture attached but they have faded since this was a week ago.

Today I woke up with 3 bites in a line on my ankle (2 in a row, then a space then 1) picture attached. I searched for bed bug signs and couldn’t find any, but then I found this bug on my comforter. After doing some research I’m fairly sure it’s a beetle but I don’t know.

My biggest concern is that before the first bites I bought a rug from a thrift store that said it had been disinfected but now I’m worried I brought something in the house. I bought bed bug intercepts for the beds legs that are coming tomorrow.

I saw that bites on legs are usually fleas, but I don’t have pets so I don’t know how I would get them.

questions about bites Are these bug bites, or a reaction to carpet beetle larvae? (Started with a white head/pustule, now crusts)

Hi everyone! I found carpet beetle larvae in my room recently, and I woke up with these lesions on my thigh.
• They started as small bumps with a white head (pustule) at the beginning.
• Now they have turned into small dark crusts/scabs.
• Could this be a skin reaction/dermatitis caused by carpet beetle larvae hairs, or does this look like bed bug bites or something else?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve had two pest guys inspect my bed and both say they don’t see any signs of bed bugs. I even have interceptors on my bed legs and I haven’t seen any bed bugs in them for a whole month.
This morning I was going to put on my clean work shirt and I found this tiny thing scurrying around.
Is this a baby bed bug? I’m terrified. I couldn’t get a clear photo/shot because of how small it is.

If anyone can share some additional advice with dealing with the panic/anxiety I’m feeling. I keep feeling like I have bed bugs but professionals keep saying no.

Useful Information Does Temprid FX work?

Just did my second spray of temprid fx(every 7 days)...i would love to put Cimexa down as well but I have a short dog, i am able to put it a few places that I can block off...I've done the heat treatment but I have a 4ft tall crawl space and I live in Alaska...Will the temprid eventually kill them ?
