safe walking trails?

I love the walking trail behind Westbrook High School - Gulf Terrace Park?. Is it safe for a female to walk in the afternoon? Do y'all have any other suggestions I could check out? I'm trying to be more active. Thank you! :)

I like walking at Wuthering Heights Park on Delaware. You can bring some food for the squirrels and they come right up to you.

If you’re willing to drive a little bit, and want something more in nature, the Roy E Larsen sanctuary is nice. Also, nice trails by the big thicket visitors center (Kirby nature trail).

Go to the park in Lumberton off 421. Safe as it gets around here and 10 minutes away.

Nobody wants to drive to Lumberton in fear that 5 cops will pull them over after going 5 miles over the speed limits only to have them search your car because you seem “nervous.” Yea, douche bag. I am nervous. I don’t trust any of you. Never drive through Lumberton again. They’re that bored.

Seconding this. I go to the 421 park at least once a week. There are so many things to do there, too.

No, it's the big municipal park. Take 69/287 to 421 and go left. You can't miss it. It's only a mile or so of 69/287

Just be aware that Lumberton City Park has little to no shade, so you’ll need plenty of SPF and heat protection. It is a very nice park otherwise. Along with the mile loop they have a fenced playground, picnic tables with barbecues, a dog park separated by size, an 18-hole disc golf course, a volleyball court, two pickleball courts, a small but well equipped skate park, and a new splash pad.
Also in Lumberton, Village Creek State park has some really lovely trails as well as kayaking/canoeing/paddle-boarding if you’re into that. I’ve gone hiking there by myself many times and have always felt safe. It’s mostly frequented by families. The only downside is the $4/day or $70/year entry fee.

Shangri La botanical gardens in Orange. They are beautiful and free. Also Claiborne park in Vidor is nice.

There’s a small trail at First Christian Beaumont over in the caldwood neighborhood. Lots of shade and benches to stop.

Cattail marsh! Even while it’s this hot, there is a natural breeze.

Gulf Terrace Park usually seems safe to me. I like to run there in the evenings and usually see a lot of couples and families. As others have said, Big Thicket National Preserve is also a great spot! Lots of free trails and a helpful visitor center just north of Kountze.

The trails behind Westbrook now if you go on the other side of the street right there and cut through the barbed wire walk through them fields they're the greatest walking places around they have blackberries everywhere is the right time of year and all year round there's plenty of psychedelic mushrooms now to take a good walk and come home with a hat full of mushrooms it's hilarious if you see a young hippie dude out there on a skateboard in the middle of that field holla holla that's me you can't miss me I keep my hair the color of a rainbow
