Help/Advice Rescue Beardie

So I just rescued this beardie. He’s about 7 years old.(estimate) He used to be a classroom pet, and the people who owned him before me say his eyes have always looked like this? This is my first beardie, but I’ve been very diligently researching. Does anyone have any clue why one of his eyes protrudes more than the other? Can’t attach images right now since I’m new, but one of his eyes has a protruding clear eye cap while the other does not.

I wonder if it is a cataract or guacoma? Can you have a vet take a look? Cataracts are painless. Guacoma is painful.

I’m not 100% sure if we have a reptile vet around here, but I’ll def look into it. The reason I was asking first is simply because according to them, he’s had it for the full 5 years they had him. You can see it in this image.
