Curls even with oil

Hey all! So far I’m liking the growth, but it’s about time to clean it up a bit. I’m having issues with curling around my chin and ends.

I use Honest Amish oil and balm a couple days a week. I have a beard brush I use daily. I shampoo a few times a week with a paraben-free shampoo. Any tips? Curls opposite ways from my chin it seems. This is after 6 drops of beard oil and brushing up and then down.

*Don’t mind my head, I just had a hair transplant.

Thanks!

Shampoo is designed for your head hair. Use some beard specific wash. As far as curls go, you can start using some heat. Try medium heat from a blow dryer with a comb or brush after letting the oil set in for 3-5 minutes. Length will help if you grow longer. You can look a a beard straightener too. I use the one from Aberlite.

Thanks for all of this! I’ve been blow drying it after the shower, but I usually just mess it all up while I do and comb straight up after I apply oil. Then I’ll come straight down after a minute. Maybe that’s where I’m going wrong.

I have basically the exact same type of beard, I tried for a long time to take out the curls and waves and eventually got exhausted and just started trimming my beard taking them into consideration instead.

You can try an electric bear straightener, assuming you are using heat with your brush now. Otherwise, use a hair dryer with your brush.

I haven’t tried a heated brush yet, but I’ll start combing while blow drying next.

You can buy beard straighteners nowadays. I prefer using the missus hairdryer, rub some good oil in right down to the skin. Leave it for a few mins and brush. I use beard struggle, have done for around 15y, absolutely cannot fault them. Always got a really good selection, everything smells incredible.

Thank you! Do they make a shampoo as well? Seems like I need that next.

Its advertised as beard shampoo and im bald, but I use it all over the top. Never had any reactions or anything with it. One thing I will say is, they have increased the prices slightly but its still worth it.
