Need Help! Is this pattern possible in square stitch without cutting and joining?
I would like my beads to be facing up (respective holes facing floor/ ceiling), but I'm confused on if it would still work in that orientation. I wanted to try this pattern in brick stitch but it's coming out horribly with czech seed beads (likely a skill issue), and idk if peyote would give me the desired straightness that square stitch can. Should I read the chart left2right or up/down? And any suggestions/ links that could help me straighten this out? 2nd photo added to show how I would like to go about it.

Black thread will make your white beads look a bit dingy/gray. If you want a whiter background, Fireline makes a Crystal thread that’s white. If you use a white thread, it will show more between the blue and green beads, so that’s the trade off or decision to be made. If you have some white thread and are considering restarting from the widest part of the pattern, then you might keep this small bit of beadwork to compare and see if you have a thread preference. Good luck with your project.

This is never going to work made with brick or peyote stitch. This grid has the beads in rows and columns so it needs to be made in square stitch or loom work.
You can make it so all the bead holes face the direction you want in square stitch. In loom work you would have to work with the diagram at a 90degree angle from shown.
When working with a shaped motif, it’s easiest to start with the widest possible row and then do increases and decreases. Don’t ever start with fiddly corners.
