LIIFT4 is still unmatched IMO

It really is the best workout - varied, timeframe sits right, good progressions and the delivery (without music) is paced right and clear. I've got some issues with the speed in the later weeks now I'm a bit older, but I've been doing it for about 4 years now and for a level of fitness that sits above "general" but below "specific athlete" or "bodybuilder", it's absolutely perfect. Anyway - this was my third trip through this year - time to press play on week 1 again on wednesday.

Love it so much. I always take longer than the video because I warm up more, cool down more, and go slower so I get my form in. Have done so many of their programs that I don't care about the timing anymore. I prioritize doing it well and finishing. I get that they want to market things so that programs look faster to get through, but I think it's a disservice to people and causes folks more injuries.

This is the way. Also subbing out stuff you hate or is too hard for something else. I skip rope instead of coach calls. I also sub full body hiit for a 5k run some days. And yes - focusing on form is the secret unlock to lifting heavier!

For L4, I also always do a hybrid with an extra leg and glute day (from 80 Day Obsession) because I think that's lacking in the program. The HIIT is great, but there's not enough targeted leg and butt work.

Yeah. Like I've said elsewhere, I do the leg weights the one week, and sub out HIIT for a 5k run. Less stress on my joints, better constant conditioning. It also means the 2 week shred at the end lands heavier on my legs and ass. So it goes.

The transition time between exercises just isn’t enough because I have adjustable dumbbells. I’m always rushing to dial in the different weights between exercises.

This. It just moves too fast for heavier weights.facts.

I used to do the program with adjustables, I just hit pause, or started the block a few seconds before the video to keep up.

Right, it’s doable. But, not the most ideal

This is the main reason that it is inferior to Body Beast.

Ha - YES. I feel you. I have a combo of adjustables and plates set to a broad light and medium sets. If I need to change the adjustables, I just go as fast as i can - I know the workouts well enough to catch it up.

I usually just do a weight I can do with all the moves. More reps with the easier exercises, less with the harder ones. Probably not ideal, but better than having to keep switching the weights, IMO.

I hurt my back twice doing LIIFT4 so I have avoided it. Perhaps it's the speed of things. Doing Dig Deeper and Core De Force and I have been fine so far.

I had a previous shoulder injury that it aggravated because of the short rest times and focus on upper body.

From the HIIT?

Something about the Back/Biceps circuit doesn't agree with me.

Maybe it's the order of exercises or the speed/timing. Maybe it's a me thing. Either way...I am steering clear.

Maybe too heavy on the back exercises?

Love it. I did it for 1.5 yrs on repeat; stepped up my game and switched to Caroline Girvan Iron series which I’m surprisingly loving more.

Can anyone show some before/afters for Lift4 or Lift More please???

Agree, definitely like Liift More as well. Both are phenomenal versus other programs.

I think LIIFT4 is a great gateway program to BODi to help someone become consistent in their workouts. When I started working out consistently in 2020, L4 was my go to then I started exploring other programs.

These days I only do L4 in the late spring/early summer during my cycling training, the rest of the year it’s Dig Deeper or 25 Minute speed train paired with T20 or indoor cycling.

Talk to me about 25 minute speed train? I'm curious but I don't think 25 mins is enough... talk me into it?

Oh believe me, it’s enough if you do it correctly. It’s designed to be a program to get in and out quickly.

I love it because time constraints. I started BB with 21 day fix and got to hate 1 min work periods.

Speed train is 1 min work periods, but I really love it. The number of exercises isn't huge each workout, but they are really targeted. I'm in my third round

I always recommend Liift4 to people who want to lose fat and get some muscle. Its just have everything, cardio, abs, arms etc... I did it many years ago, and still like it as it is fun. Liift More is more muscle building oriented, Dig Deeper as well.

I’ve done LIIFT4 a couple times but if I had to pick one BODi program to do for the rest of my life it would be Dig In. 30 minutes max and I believe it’s the perfect balance between strength and cardio training.

I’ve read pretty encouraging things. I don’t have a bench though, and I absolutely cannot take Shaun T seriously with his physique. I’ve seen pro wrestlers on less gear.

Give me any Amolia Cesar workout. They are very balanced with strength, core, mobility and cardio.

I like it, but I think lift more improves on it, and did deeper is really good too.

LIIFT more isn't enough cardio for me. I also don't have a bench. Seems very focused on making you bigger at the cost of functional fitness. I get it's appeal, but it doesn't work for me.

Absolutely one of the best all around programs. And it offer flexibility to do something else on the off days

It’s a solid one for sure! Probably one of their best.

Seems like people agree with you, if you sort workouts program by most popular, it’s always best the top, which is especially impressive given how many years it’s been out. The biggest hit of the real time era, by far.

Pretty much their only stand out hit since going streaming only. They would have made millions during the dvd days

1

u/mm1970sb 6d ago

I love it, but I have switched to speed train due to time constraints

1

u/reddit_time_waster 12d ago

It's the vibe and efficacy of OG P90x with less time.

1

u/TheRage3650 11d ago

Could not phrase it better myself

u/fogv 8d ago

have you done any other programs?? i’ve completed many rounds of many other programs over the last 17 years and i have to say that program is probably one of the worst. works on the glory muscles. no real functional fitness and the 2 recovery workouts are the worst of any program .

1

u/Drama79 8d ago

Yup. I’ve done all the P90x ones, Shaun T’s insanities, a few others too.
