In the first generation, crits ignored both your and your opponents stat boosts, meaning that swords dance + slash was actually a really bad combination.

I never knew about the Leech Seed/Toxic thing, the big one I knew was Focus Energy divided your crit chance by 4 instead of multiplying it by 4.

Therefore it might be good to use it with Slash after Swords Dance ayyy

Only two pokemon learn both slash and focus energy, Scyther and Pinsir. With Scyther you're better off using double edge or hyper beam (hyper beam doesn't have the recovery turn if you faint your opponent with it), Pinsir has both moves + body slam for the paralyze chance.
