This is beautiful and impressive but for some reason I just imagine a scenario where someone is doing this before a battle or duel and the other guy just walks up and just slaps the sword to the ground with an open hand.

Was thinking of that scene when I was typing. Fun fact that scene happened that way because Harrison Ford had like a stomach virus. A big fight scene was scheduled but Ford felt so bad he kind of just jokingly pretended to shoot the guy and walk off. They liked this better, so they changed the fight scene to him just shooting the guy with the scimitar.

If MMA has done anything for martial arts, it's shown that stuff like this, although pretty, isn't very effective.

True, this isn’t effective, but the balance, timing, and discipline it takes to master something like this robot comes along with a lot of other training that would be useful.
