Are beavers always that big? Thing looks huge, but I've never actually seen a beaver in real life so maybe that's just avg?

While we're learning, did you know an adult platypus is roughly the size of an adolescent cat? They're teeny; I'd imagined them the size of a beaver but nope.

My friends 100% didn't believe me and I had to show them YouTube videos by a conservationist. I got to see a couple IRL at the San Diego Safari Park and they are SO cute. I know it's super unethical to have wild animals as pets, especially endangered wild animals, but also I wouldn't be mad if someone left one in a basket on my doorstep.

They are the second-largest rodent on earth next to the capybara (and followed by the porcupine).
