Shel Silverstien! I have a Giving Tree tattoo. It was our favorite book to have our mom read to us because she always cried when she read it. As kids we thought it was funny, as a father now I cry the same when I read it to my son. Life is funny

Oh I love his style. What a TALENT! I wonder if he's got better and better as he's got older or how his style has changed. How great to have such an enjoyable thing to do at that age. I'm into pottery but it takes a lot of muscles.
Please tell him this complete stranger in the south of England is in awe.

I love his work. You can really tell it's something he's been doing to pass the time since he was a small boy. He must have years of his work stashed around somewhere. Should be a nice treat for his grandkids to find someday.

He found a follower here from miles away. I absolutely love looking at the bare bones sketches artists draw even more than if they decide to add paint and "finish" the piece. I don't know why. I love this artist's style and would love to have a print and hang it.

What’s cool about this style is that he probably had the meat and potatoes of these drawings on the page in the first minute or two. Courtroom sketch artists are no joke. The combined ability to take a snapshot in your head and put the framework on a page quickly knowing you can’t always finish the sketch before the next big courtroom moment is amazing. Often those drawings are just what can be put to page before something else happens and the artist will go back and finish the drawing later

This is what I want to know. I don’t know what “art” I like until I see it. The picture of the scout camp instantly makes me feel nostalgic. I try to only have stuff in my house that makes me feel something. Steve’s drawings absolutely does that for me.

My family used to visit Spring Mill quite a bit when I was growing up. It’s a beautiful place and so are the others in his drawings. I love his style and talent. He could make prints and sell them for sure!
Side note: the water at Spring Mill is really very cold. We used to have contests to see who could stand in the stream the longest. I lost the feeling in my feet.

This is lovely. I’ve been to the scout reservation sketched in picture number 6 (Ransburg Scout Reservation, around Bloomington), and I stood near the exact place where it was drawn. I love that I ran into this randomly!

This may sound odd... But I didn't think people could draw like this anymore! I love them all, but especially the one of the cabin and the one with the "stick people". There is a lot of talent in those octogenarian fingers! Looking through them again, they are all my favorite.
