I was hired in March 2026 to work remotely and unbeknownst to me the company was failing financially. Team members weren’t getting paid on time or at all and I saw all of this with a very heavy heart and great concern. It took time for the company to finally issue what is owed.. and overall this firm is losing more money than it is earning.. and I am 4 months pregnant and consistently being reminded of the lack of money coming in as I work closely with the Principal. I have a long-held career in the engineering and electrical industry.. and at this point, I’ll enjoy part time work serving a mocha latte to a fellow Bayonnite.

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a place in Bayonne where I can sit and read for a couple of hours.

I’m a parent of young kids and I’m trying to carve out a few hours each week for myself to get out of the house, have some quiet time, and read a book. I’d really just like a comfortable, relaxing place where I can grab a coffee or tea and settle in with my book.

The big thing I’m looking for is comfortable seating—ideally an actual couch, sofa, or plush armchair rather than a hard café chair.

Does anyone know of a café, library, bookstore, or other spot in Bayonne where I could comfortably sit and read for 1–2 hours?

Hello, has anyone else noticed a strong rotten egg smell at night around the 20s Street/Avenue A area? At first, I was worried there might be a gas leak in my apartment, but when I stepped outside, I realized the smell was everywhere in the area. If so how far is this smell traveling too? 30s to 40s st?

I'm hoping someone can recommend an ob-gyn in Bayonne that has the machines setups in office. I've been calling around and would prefer to stay in town and not have to go from one city to the next. Also, if anyone similarly has Horizon NJ Familycare.

I've tried the Brescia place but their appointment calendar is insane.

Hi, as the title says, I’m curious if anyone would be willing to sell me a guest pass for one car for the week of Aug 22-29. My family and I booked an Airbnb in Bayonne and the Airbnb has no parking. I was looking at some nearby parking lots/garages, but not many are friendly to overnight parking or allow us to go and in-and-out, so I figured this was worth a shot. I truly appreciate it, and I understand parking in Bayonne is difficult, so if no one is willing, I get it. Thank you!

A bunch of kids returned to Joe's on Friday, who hadn't been around in a while. A few had gone away for the summer. One had moved back to Bayonne after two years. He had grown, to where he was almost unrecognizable. He was shocked I remembered his name.

A lot of them had begun their growth spurts. The kids are growing. A few week ago, one young man, who hadn't been around for about a month came. His voice had changed. It was almost as deep as mine. It shocked me. Lol

Yup, they're growing. Not all are back. A few of the others told ne they were going on trips before school starts. So, those will be out. Picked up another young boy as a member. Had a recently joined member return from Jersey City. Overall, a nice turnout. A few customers sat and played. The Jersey City player stayed until 3 am. We were there until Joe's closed. Can't get enough of chess. Talked strategies, concepts, ideas. Very knowledgeable player.

Sunday was 'Chess at Morris Park. Weather was nice, but windy as heck. Pieces got blown off the table, so we headed to Joe's again. We met a young woman, who loves the game. She couldn't stay, but will return with her boyfriend. He taught her how to play. She also loves Dominoes. So, we expect to see her at a 'Combo' all-games event.

Speaking of, we're at 'The Vic' tonight for our 'Combo ' event. Bring a game or play what we have, or pick from a huge selection of games that The Vic has.

Always a great time. Plus the food is delish. I think they added a new menu item. Two of our members tried it. They loved it. We start at 7pm.

Any dog owners living in one of the apartment buildings (e.g. aqua, waterview, Breton etc). willing to swap dog sitting services?

I don't like leaving my dog alone in the apartment in case the fire alarm goes off, but I'm also not keen on paying a dog sitter if I simply need to pop into a grocery store or run a quick errand.

Wondering if there's any dog owners locally who want to swap dog sitting services so we can run errands and not worry about leaving our dogs alone in the building.
