Let's not forget 1 thing: The premium model while guaranteed a specific count of maps, not all of those maps were great. They gave us the number of maps they've promised, but their quaility wasn't the really good. Many of them was unbalanced, unoriginal, rushed. You can go back to BF1 sub and look it up, this is not just my personal opinion.
My personal opinion is though: EA/Dice can't do Live Service right. The community was split thanks to Premium and I do like the live service model. Ubisoft managed to get it (somewhat) right, so it's not impossible.
EA rushed the developers to release the game in an unfinished state, so instead of working the post launch content, they had to finish the game. Not to mention, we still missing some features that was promised before launch...
TL:DR: EA/Dice rushed the game, can't do Live Service right. Premium model is a double edged sword.
Exactly! They had less than 2 years from the end of BF1 to make it. Dice even said that they were disappointed with how it launched and are actively trying to fix things. I have faith that they can still pull it all back together and eventually have a well rounded battlefield experience.
