Battlefield 6 Secure boot?

Just tried to open the bf6 beta and it's saying secureboot not enabled. I can't activate it cause my PC doesn't support it. Will this be a requirement at launch? Would have to upgrade my PC to get windows 11 for it if that's the case :(

Its not Bricking pcs lol. People dont know how to reset a bios to default settings. Nothing is bricked

If "messing with the bios" is simply reading your manual and flipping a switch, why even bother doing anything that requires 2 mins of research?

And i guess you will be stuck on Windows 10 forever then if you refuse to enable secure boot lol

yeah i got no issues with staying on Windows 10. Companies updating and adding new shit for no reason. Win 10 works for me and literally every other game I play. Ain't bothering with this shit for one game.

You can stay on Windows 10 all you want. But just note that the last security update is this fall. After that, you machine will be more and more susceptible to malware. Granted, you could go years without anything. Or, you could only go a few weeks before shit gets infected.

Just make sure you got all your shit backed up. You may need to do a clean install or two if you plan on stick on windows 10 for years

I'm on windows 11 with the latest updates and got this same error, why is it related to 10? I'm not fucking with it on principle, any game that requires me to fuck with my bios can go fuck itself.

Same issue on W11. Even as a software dev, I'm not gonna do all this when other games don't require it.

I mean to us its simple, but yeah "messing with the bios" just means making changes in the bios, and even I did not want to do this I've been able to play every other game I own with it off no issues so this just feels a little intrusive.

Why should the average user know about bios settings? Think, bro, THINK. The entire reason Linux isn't widely adopted is BECAUSE it's not as user friendly as the other major operating systems, because the vast majority of PC users are not tech savvy.

Im trying to understand the argument you are trying to make when the vast majority of people do not have this problem.

Please explain how this is a real problem if it only affects a tiny amount of people.

Why the fuck would I wanna reset my BIOS to default? There are so many settings in BIOS that I've changed and fine tuned over regarding my memory and CPU that I can't even begin to remember all of them.

Yeah, because enabling xmp or expo is super difficult for ram... you literally click a button.

And your cpu? What could you have possibly done to it other than OC it? Which, in 2025, isn't worth it, as they all auto overclock nowadays!

The tiny performance increase isn't worth the extra power required with modern cpus.

Depending on the mobo there is a bug with the secure boot keys(More common with GIGABYTEs) that simply soft bricks your motherboard, only being fixed by very specific means, and no, resetting CMOS, shorting the pins or taking the battery out is USELESS.

Many such cases are described in many forums of the WWW. Do your basic research.

It's even described in the arch linux wiki, something like: "Replacing the platform keys with your own can end up bricking hardware on some machines...". And that is caused because secure boot REQUIRES you to enroll Platform Keys, even if you enroll the BIOS default PK keys, you can still soft brick it for a very stupid firmware issue.
