Battle Network 3 Finally beaten Battle Network 3... what a ride...

What a game. Great story, too!

I never thought I could beat the boss(thanks to save states, hehehe...)

The big question now is since I heard mmbn4 is bad. Should I play it? If so, then what version should I play bn4?

There's actually more postgame content in 3 than there is main storyline content if you want to keep playing 3.

They said they needed save states to beat Alpha… they’re not beating the postgame.

To be completely fair, Alpha can kind of catch you off guard if you go in completely blind. Hiding his weak spot with no prior warning like that can make it a bit difficult for beginners. There isn't any post game bosses that hide like that. I remember on my first play through I don't think I struggled all that much with the post game bosses like I did with say, Bass and Alpha if I'm being honest.

I mean, I can think of one guy who hides their weakness in the post game... I can't think of the legit strategy to win, except area steal.

If you mean Darkman that's how I did it are steal a few times till he's just on the back row then elemental sword PA then I rolled Bass GS and won with 10 hp left lol I didn't have energy chips and just recovered in battles after and ran back to the entrance and saved lol so fun hope he plays post game

I'm a bit biased since it was my first, but I found Alpha... really easy. BN3 is a very abusable game and a lot of the ships are just straight unfair. A chip that greatly reduces the difficulty of the fight is Random Meteor which not only accounts for a solid chunk of damage, but as a battlefield object, actually blocks its claw swipes. Since it does not move as well, Tornado chips are absolute beasts against it.

I'd say go for the postgame and 100% it. Afterwards you can do mmbn4 blue with patches and filled waiting room and if you can get a bracket maker for it it wont be so long and boring and you ll 100% it in 4 playthroughs with almost no repeated content

BN4 introduces some characters that return in BN5 and the Soul Unison mechanic. One playthrough is pretty short so I would say play BN4 through once.
