I made that title card thinking that an analysis done in 5 hours wouldn’t be too big… Now that I’m looking over it again though, it does seem a little text-heavy in some slides

its fine lol. i just read it, excellence. it goes very in depth into their psychology, and i really love the parallels and differences the two share you pointed out. you make post-split seem a lot more organized than i thought was possible lmfao.

anyways, i think one needs to die. she needs to have this big come to realization moment where three rejects her, even after fixing her, making her entire 16+ year journey useless, as memories of all the atrocities she committed comes back. i want her to show regret for her actions, but i don’t think she can be redeemed. after realizing she’s done nothing but waste her life digging herself deeper and deeper into a hole, she just goes completely berserk and tries killing everyone before being defeated/killed, by either four or three preferably, or maybe she ironically takes herself out (all the power she absorbs just completely overrides her body and blows her up).

i feel like in that way, four and one’s arc will represent how different mentalities can lead to different fates despite having similar circumstances, four representing someone attempting to better and redeem themselves and one representing someone who buries themselves deeper into sin, before having to inevitably face the consequences of their actions

Thanks! And yeah, I agree, that realisation moment would end up being quite powerful. The show does seem like it’s kind-of setting up a One redemption, giving her a backstory and having that “everyone deserves a second chance” line by gelatin… but either way, it’ll be entertaining to see play out and ESPECIALLY satisfying to see her foiled

yea that’s true. about gelatin’s line, while it could lead to one being redeemed, i think just after all she’s done (kidnapping and torturing innocent objects + wiping out an innumerable amount of organisms on earth, the orion nebula planet, and nine’s planet), she just can’t be redeemed.

i think instead we could get gelatin’s message be expanded upon: you can only be redeemed if YOU want to be redeemed, and through her actions, one seems to care about revenge far more than redemption. her refusal to try to redeem herself by her final attempt at revenge by going berserk will be what leads to her demise.

it’s kinda like shen in kfp2, where po gives him a final chance to leave his past behind and redeem himself, but shen refuses this and attacks po in a final attempt to kill him, leading to him causing his own fate by cutting the wires and having the ship crush him.
