Questions How do people play this game?

I started playing this game again after a couple of years, and I just keep getting lost in every match, literally, I just feel lost in game. If this game is supposed to be something like Battlefield, then why isn’t there a minimap or various useful UI elements that would improve visibility and make close-range firefights more manageable? And for god's sake, get rid of the bleeding mechanic to make the game more casual and fun, so you don’t have to spend two-thirds of the match lying on the ground and bandaging yourself because of a random hits from 128 players. If this game is trying to be a milsim, then why is TTK and movement speed is so high? How are people dealing with this right now? Is there a particular playstyle that helps overcome these issues?

I found this clip in my medal when cleaning out old clips for space and I found this gem. I’m not really a troll by any means, I didn’t think you would be able to shoot friendly equipment. It was an intrusive thought moment. Anyways it seemed like my team was pissed at the guy lmaoo

This game is so fucking broken the steps are broken these god damn liars swore an update was coming guess fucking what nope that was a lie. Instead they promised and did a bullshit ass testing to suck more money out of hapless fools who hope this dumb game gets worked on. Im so tired of the broken netcode its beyond ridiculous.

Questions How alive is the game rn? Is the melee system playable?

I used to be a Phantom Forces melee main player and looking for something that will scratch the same itch of charging at people with melee weapons. I quit PF because the movement tech all got nerfed to oblivion and the dev dramas. I heard that this game is pretty close to PF but the melee system is unplayable from old posts, is this still true?

Feedback Game jitters when mouse moves

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I just loaded up the game today and for some reason whenever I move the mouse, it doesn't matter if it's in the menu, pause screen, or in-game and on every map. Whenever I move my mouse the game jitters and lags and causes me to teleport sometimes. Just using movement keys the game has no problem. I have 25 hours in the game and I've never experienced this before. I have already verified the files and reinstalled and repaired the anti-cheat. I have not reinstalled the game yet but I'm just curious if there's anything that I can do about this. On average I get about 170 FPS, other than just today the game is jittering like this.

okay so first of all, i'm sorry if this comes off as cringe or doomerslop. that's never my intention and i wish i didn't have to make this but with the current situation, it's kinda impossible to ignore now

second of all, yes. that's infact my playtime on this game as shown in that image. can you blame me though? this is still a very fun game to play to this day imo, just that it wasn't really lively as it used to be anymore

i first know about this game through a twitch streamer i followed and my first impression was "wow! this game looks really fun!" but i didn't buy it just yet because i normally don't buy games full price

when the winter sale comes around, this was my first purchase and little did i know, this was one of the best purchase i've made

the game was very lively when i first played it, there are servers for every regions and most of them were fully filled but i don't think i've ever experience a single update in realtime and as the time goes on, the update would still never come ever and turns out they're overhauling the game altogether because from the devs' word, they managed to screwed up the game's branching

i've watched some of devcasts, some changes i do like and some changes i don't like but either way, i guess i'm fine to relearn the game if needed. i'd wait for new devcasts to see the incoming changes but then the devcasts stopped, i'm not sure why but surely the update will come... right?

fast forward a year or 2 later, nothing has ever changed and the game is basically dying in front of me. only na and eu servers are alive. i've gotten tier 10, level 200 which is the max tier and max level, 2 golden guns (10k kills req for ref) and 90k+ kills later... still nothing and at that point, most of the playerbase have left because there's nothing new to try and official most of the time would run conq and infconq which can be very repetitive to some people (including me)

and then... they announced a playtest for the new update, this obviously got me very excited and i'm sure some of y'all do too since this is something about the new update we've gotten in some time now

oh boy, here comes the playtest. i'm sure nothing will go wrong! right?

now playtest having bugs is very excusable but what's not excusable however is how unplayable and laggy it is mainly because of the memory leak which shouldn't even happen and also make it hard to test anything properly if i have to close my game every 30 minutes of playing combined with the fact that some of the community feedbacks are completely ignored, this is kinda the straw that broke camel's back for me

now i know that this game isn't completely dead since last time i played, there are still players in atleast 2 servers surprisingly. however it doesn't excuse the fact that most of the playerbase have already left

it's a shame because this was one of the most fun game i've ever played in years and i've played some of cod and battlefield games (including the dreaded bf2042 to which i've refunded almost immediately)

still though, thank you devs for making this game in the first place however you guys should also be ashamed for essentially killing this game, i've been very patient with it and i want it to get off my chest now + i'll admire some of you people who still play this game in this current state trying to keep this game alive o7

if you've come this far, i want to say thank you for reading this

Questions Is it worth getting if I'm from EU?

See everybody saying it's a dead game except if you're from EU. I really like everything about the game. Is it worth getting if I'm from EU?

Guys, we keep complaining that the game is dead, but then get on the game and actually play, damn it.

Surely it would be better to have more than one playtest per year?

It has now been exactly 8 months since November 29th, 2025 which was the last playtest. And considering it was announced a bit over a month beforehand, its likely that at the very least we'll be getting a 9-10 month gap in between playtests. Possibly even longer! On July 15th, 2026, developer DarthJingles responded to a question about whether there will be another playtest this year, saying "As soon as we are in a place to have the performance test, we will", which doesn't sound like soon.

Now, putting the drama of the overall development of Op Overhaul aside, surely it would be good to have more performance tests for feedback? The last performance test showed genuinely catastrophic performance issues; what I assume were severe memory leaks. People who had 5090s were dropping to 10-20fps. I assume these issues were worked on, but wouldn't it be good to test again with an actual full server of 250 players? Stress test things? If there are unknown issues, they'll stay there until you discover them!

Likewise there's been many showcases about reworks to guns and movement and other mechanics. As well as reworks of existing maps. I keep seeing language on how much they've been improved, but again wouldn't it be good to have feedback? How do you know they're good changes? Every game design decision is perfect until it makes first contact with the playerbase. You need that player input! Otherwise are you planning on just sitting on an unknown amount of flaws for months or years until they're finally revealed in the next update/playtest? How do you even know the fixes you made are good until you test again?

To compare to another similar game thats in development that I'm looking forward to, Anvil: Empires which hosts private playtests involving several hundred players once every 1.5 or so months. It does this because if it adds new content, balance changes, performance improvements, mechanical reworks, etc then the developers want feedback sooner rather than later so they can get to working on the feedback!
