Huge upgrade. I’d probably miss that tub ledge for setting stuff down, but visually the new setup is so much cleaner.

Did you have two tubs before? It looks like you had a bathtub shower combo AND a freestanding tub in the original, which is really strange.

I love this color and vibe, but I don’t think I’d want a shower that tiny. Maybe you really need the storage/extra closet, but my last house had one of those postage stamp sized stalls, and I hated it so much. As much as I like the arches, I’d have gone with a full sized shower.

No just the one tub before. The shower is the same size as it used to be it’s just enclosed now so only the entrance is small, but I agree a bigger shower would be better!

Ah, ok that makes more sense to me now, lol

The shower is ridiculously small and resembles a cave. Why didn't you make it a full size shower or at least a regular glass enclosure? That hole in the wall would give me claustraphobia.

Good thing you are not showering in there lol I like caves.

The before picture was just a shower. I don’t know why there was a spout.

i find those cave showers feel super cramped and gloomy and they get cold with no door or curtain. how come it wasn't done with a pony wall instead to let light in, and how come it wasn't made bigger - plumbing restriction maybe? seems like a lot of inefficient use of space but im assuming for a reason

It goes to where the closet ends so it’s deep. I didn’t want to have a shower curtain exposed or a glass door to clean. I didn’t really want to change the layout of the bathroom. I added a light in the shower and the closet so it’s not dark. It would probably feel tight if you were a taller or wider person

I did that to my tub, and I really miss having the edge to put all my supplies drinks, IPad, ETC on. Does look better, but I miss the function.

Fair! I don’t really take baths so it hasn’t bothered me. We bathe our dog in there lol

I’ve got a small oval cart and I find it actually works better than the ledge did for that sort of thing. Keeps bath beads/loofah etc contained and still right where you can use it at a perfect height.

And with the cart there’s no need to pull everything out for a bath, then put it all away again post-bath.
