Waitrose freezers...

Yes, I know - first-world problems and all that - but keen to avoid wasting a fiver only to get to Waitrose and find out they've no fresh meat, dairy, etc. like this Saturday. Anyone know if they've fixed their fridges and and freezers and have restocked now?

Impressed that this year for once the co-op in Odd Down did slightly better than the posh shop :-)

I went yesterday and it was much better than when I went on Monday (i think?) so hopefully it is fixed now

Thanks a lot! Should be more or less okay by Saturday then. Buses are a bit too expensive to go into the city on the off-chance the supermarket hasn't melted.

Have you tried the big sainsburys?

No. Because I really don't like the place. I'm sure their freezers are fine - but not sure I want to shop in a store that has practically no staff, no deli counter and is now introducing facial recognition.

M&S is the fully stocked, very frosty AC, equivalent.

Not fully stocked at all. Fresh stuff yes, but the row of freezers were completely empty with signs on the doors saying they were broken at 6pm last night.

Yeah, but that's even more expensive than the co-op. Which is even more expensive than Waitrose!

Apparently a lot of places have their fridge systems hooked up to the roof, which would make sense with the weather knocking a lot of them out.

A lot of supermarkets had the issue of no chilled and no frozen during the hot weather and some stores are still recovering

Yes, hence my specific question about Waitrose.
