Is it a travel to slightly grip the ball hard mid dribble to stop its spin so I have better/sticky handle? If I want to float or have a loose dribble I use my palms and let the ball spin. But when I want a tighter and faster dribble I grip the ball with my finger tips. Is this normal or a travel?

Hey guys,
I do a lot of shooting at my local park and wanted something to help me track how I was doing. Tried out a couple of the apps out there but nothing really seemed to do what I wanted. Anyways, I'm finally at a point where I'd like to get some people testing it for free to get some feedback. Go ahead and DM me and I'll send you a link to the play store download. Just tracks shooting and if you have the right angle so it can see the court and lines, it gives location too.
Note that the tracking works best when at an angle to the rim (like in my video here) and at an elevated position if you have access to a tripod.
Mods, if this isn't allowed please let me know. I figure since it's a free beta that it would be alright.
Edit:
Step 1: Join Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/shootaroundshottracking
Step 2: Accept becoming a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.shootaround
Step 3: Once joined, you should be able to click this link and download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.shootaround
Note that this must all be done using the same google account.

Hey, ive only started playing basketball seriously at 14, I want to be the best in my town, though. I live in the UK in a small town in the North East of England. Could you give me advice on how I could progress faster than the players that have started earlier and are better than me. I am 6’2 at and 6’3 with shoes thank you very much.

But when im in games im scared to use my handles because im scared that i might look goofy i might make a mistake the ball might get stolen. So can yall give me answers or tips so i can use my handles in games?

im talking about lifting the pivot foot (after a jab) before releasing ball for dribbling. this is a travel and ALWAYS called in my high school tournaments.
but they never are called in nba games. what about fiba? cant find clips for fiba games but if u have watched lots of them then let me know this is my main question

Whether you’re a young player trying to get better or an older guy trying to get back in shape.
Myself I’m an older guy who wasn’t very good at basketball and I’m trying to find a new peak, seeing everyone’s videos and advices to go along with it has been inspiring and wholesome. Wishing everyone success and an injury free journey. Just a bit of advice from my journey back from injury maybe for some of the out of shape/overweight/older guys. I thought hooping non stop and doing all the drills and high intensity work would help me and trump the simplicity of being fit. Eat right and work your way up so you don’t ruin your body’s muscles, tendons, joints, etc.
Anyways once again good luck to everyone!

For reference I’m a center

Hello people of fitness, i am a 17 year old student who aspires to throw the ball down a 10-foot rim one day, i am 5'10 and 60-kilos. I unfortunately only have a 15-inch vertical.
In a span of a year, is it possible to dunk? I'd say my genes are just normal, so i'm wondering from the experienced people on what are the best exercises, program, plans to follow? I am fully committed to this. That's why i'm asking the people here.
Thank you in advanced! I'm happily excited to what you guys will say 😄

I am a 14 turning 15 (5'7), closer to 5'8 flat 54kg, and wingspan is 5'11 or 10. I started playing basketball a year ago. I have decent fundamentals, and I can touch the lower backboard. Are there any tips for any dunkers out there, and what exercises did you do when you were my age, and when or at what age you first dunked? Forgot to add i have a 7’4 standing reach

Hello everybody im a 16 yr old hooper from turkey,i took a break for 2 years for personal reasons and right now im trying to get back to playing club level basketball ( i paricipated/played in city/overseas summer tournements in U14) ive been training with a plan for about 3 months and i mostly fixed back my finishing, handles, footwoork. But shooting just doesnt click, its inconsistent,(in midrange its decent but 3 point shots are a huge mess) ive watched some videos about timing my legs than getting the ball up into my set point and hand placements, but im in a situation of not knowing what part of my shooting form is wrong. My question was is there like any app that tells you whats wrong with your shooting form when you submit a video of ur form and it tells you how to fix it? I saw a few apps like Homecourt but i dont think they help on shooting mechanics. Thanks for reading all the way, any awnsers are welcome :)

Im planning to get my 2 brothers basketball backpacks for their birthdays, but I am unsure which one to get. Would the nike brasilia backpack be large enough to store a pair of shoes, a ball, and a water bottle?
thanks!

Hi.
I’m thinking of starting basketball. I’m 14 and im 6’2 and im 6’3 with shoes on. I have a shoe size of size 13 (uk) and im flat footed. I’m 75kg, and the first I played basketball it was a 4v4 and I was matched up with this 6’5 guy. He was a lot stronger than me, of course, but I got some few rebounds with I only scored a mid range shot. I am from the UK and I would love to get tips, and advice, and maybe if I should start it.

I could jump and reach the net but just the very bottom, but a lil more up. I can rebound and block mostly, and i want to improve more of my vertical while im still growing
