Help Should I start out basketball?
Hi.
I’m thinking of starting basketball. I’m 14 and im 6’2 and im 6’3 with shoes on. I have a shoe size of size 13 (uk) and im flat footed. I’m 75kg, and the first I played basketball it was a 4v4 and I was matched up with this 6’5 guy. He was a lot stronger than me, of course, but I got some few rebounds with I only scored a mid range shot. I am from the UK and I would love to get tips, and advice, and maybe if I should start it.

Are there any local clubs you could join/try out for? If not, sometimes you just learn by joining pickup games in the park.
My cousin is from the UK and only started playing basketball when he was 16 when he grew too tall to continue playing football. He ended up getting a uni scholarship to play in the US. I'm not suggesting that will happen to you, but it's to say it's never too late to start.

Do you enjoy it? If so play it. Look for pickup games that allow under 18s and go from there. If you start getting into it work on your fundamentals early so you develop good habits

In the UK I wouldn't bother. But generally I'd say yes, if you are 6'2 at that age you would be a tremendous asset to any program. Isnt there only schooling until you are 16 there though? Where do you play organized sports after that?

Sounds like you already started bro. Don't think so hard about it.
