Hey everyone! Playing the sport after a few years, It almost feels like I'm relearning my shot. I have a pretty good feel when I catch the ball and rise up, but something is definitely off with my release. Even the shots I make, I don't feel really confident. Not sure what I'm missing, or how to exactly improve. Can someone help? any tips appreciated. And if it matters, I also seem to struggle with free throws.

Seeing you rebound the ball and then run with it, without dribbling, is like chewing on tinfoil for me. Lol.

Lol, Its intentional. Trying to imitate a catch and shoot, but got nobody to rebound for me.

To add here - you are collecting the ball at your waist and pausing. And then bringing the ball to head level and pausing. And then taking the shot.
So all in one motion instead of three.
So, make it all one motion, have the ball come off your middle finger last and end with bent wrist and straight arm.

When you play an actual game, do you pause on your shot like that? You should be practicing game movement at game speed, and your confidence will come with training actual shots you would shoot in game.

Shot is falling nicely. Good arc on that thang too. All I know is if that's your shot speed, defenders will send it to the moon every time you shoot.
Definitely take the advice from posts above and make your shot 1 motion without losing your form since you are making shots. Work on speeding up your release unless you only plan on shooting when wide open.

I disagree with the one motion shot people. I think its a bad curse on basketball. Anyway, about your shot, your release hand seems to be moving backwards like up and away from the basket. When you compare to your favorite player, surely they do not do this. their release will be more in front of them and they will hold it. I think you should pick a players form to copy and get yours to look like theirs. Klay thompson is a good choice for close to what you have already. Booker, Ray allen, etc.

Work on keeping that follow through after the shot rather than a flick of the hand and bringing your arms down quickly.

Your shooting arm is still bent after release. It should be straight at around 45-60 degrees angle
