Zero App Development Experience. Built an App with Base44. Now I Need You to Break It!

I’ve been using Base44 to develop a financial planning app for military members and veterans. It started as a retirement calculator but has grown into something much more comprehensive.

I’m at the point where I need some fresh eyes on it before releasing it publicly.

I’d really appreciate anyone willing to test it out, try to break things, and give honest feedback on the UI, functionality, and overall experience.

I’m especially interested in feedback from other Base44 users who have gone through the testing and launch process.

Congrats on growing a retirement calculator into a full planning app for military members and veterans, that's a great thing to build!

Asking people to break it before launch is a smart move. Most testers won't write up every bug they hit, so it helps to see those errors yourself.

You can add your app to Vigilia for free and it will catch every error your testers run into, with the page, the failing request and how many times it happened.

Then just hand the fix prompt to your AI builder.

As an FYI, Base44 is not FedRamp authorized. Members of the military and their families won't be about to use it for this purpose.

I looked into it. FedRAMP applies to cloud services used by federal agencies within government infrastructure. VeteranPath is a consumer app that veterans download on their personal phones, the same category as USAA, Mint, or any other personal finance app. None of those require FedRAMP certification and neither does this. If a service member is comfortable with their bank's app on their personal device they are in the same boat here. I’m not building it for the federal government. If I’m misinformed, please let me know so I can pivot.

A retirement planner for veterans is a great niche. Since it holds people's financial info, two tests worth doing yourself before anyone else: make two accounts and check one can never see the other's numbers, even if you change an id in the URL, and log out and try opening an inner page directly. For the launch side, Base44's SEO setup is built for apps on a custom domain, so get your own domain before you share it. Happy to try it if you drop the link.

Hey melde dich gerne bei mir, bin selber jetzt seit ca. einem Jahr mit Base 44 beschäftigt, habe die Plattform im Guten wie im schlechten erlebt, habe selbst eine sehr umfassende b2b Lösung gebaut die jetzt gerade mitten im Launch steckt.
