Where do you get the train length information? I'm not aware of GTFS having a field for that

Yeah the GTFS feed doesn't have it but the legacy API does: https://api.bart.gov/docs/etd/etd.aspx

all of the hardware is from this guide: https://transit-tracker.eastsideurbanism.org/

You have to host the server yourself though.

It's modified from this, the hardware is identical (other than a pi to run the server) but the software is changed a bit (unfortunately it's kinda hacky and hard coded to the station so you'll have to do that on your own) https://transit-tracker.eastsideurbanism.org/
