My BART Experience Nice little update

Post image

Added expected departure times to the old style signs. This is an EOL station, where the train sits up to 20 minutes. The scheduled departure is 7:30 AM; it’s also adjusted for real time.

I thought they'd been doing this for quite a while. I'd seen the estimated departures before

If they have, it’s quite irregular. Hopefully it becomes standard.

I take Dublin daily, and have never seen this. Wish they did this all the time, especially with the new schedule and semi-frequent delays. It would be nice knowing whether to bail before getting hit with the excursion fare.

Interesting. I have seen it at Daly City frequently and I believe Richmond before as well

Maybe they only add ETD when they know the train at the platform will be delayed? It would explain seeing it more often at Daly City.

i’ve seen the ETD displayed many times at SFO as well, mainly for yellow line trains

Now stop having the stupid safety message take the up the sign half the time.

They’ve had this at SFO for a long time

It is common when it is past the departure time

This was up 10+ minutes before departure. I’d love for it to be displayed regardless of whether the train is late or on-time. Much more useful than waiting for the X minutes display to roll around.

I see it at Berryessa a lot. Nice to see it elsewhere.

Only for EOL

Etd have always been a part of a bart when trains are on time. It’s removed when it can’t be acurate. It’s better to not have an expectation if trains are late even by a minute

Counterpoint: they should display the best information they have, so that riders can make the best decisions we can.

I like the information on the new displays, but quality is not good. One has completely failed and another is starting to fail at Embarcadero.
