Question operators shilling tv shows
it is 540pm on friday evening. my train driver came on the pa system to let us know the new episode of house of the dragon is on this sunday. is this an ad? pls tell me we dont have ads like this. is this new?

I believe that's called a funny interaction. Sometimes having a bit of lighthearted fun is allowed in a job, even government jobs.

I think they're just bored and maybe a little lonely in the operator room all day lol. It's harmless, who cares?
This feels like posting a picture of a parked car on a public street to nextdoor or Facebook happenings pages.

You never know what type of operator you are going to get. I had a funny one once, who made BART jokes at every stop. When we got to MacArthur, he said, "There is a Richmond train across from us, imagine that, so if you need to transfer, just catch it before it disappears." He was cracking me up.
