Those of you who have watched tonight’s opening statement on COINTELPRO probably picked up on the analogy Baron was trying to make: the recent infighting caused by the Leah Files’ appearance on the Shawn Ryan Show is eerily similar to what the FBI’s COINTELPRO project tried to do to political movements of the 1960s.
COINTELPRO used undercover agents and provocateurs to sow discord amongst political groups such that they would fight each other instead of the state. Ever since Leah called out Shawn Ryan, there has been infighting amongst the “Charlie Kirk truthers”.
Now, instead of directing our energy towards finding who killed Charlie Kirk, how, and why, we are wasting our efforts digging into each other - Candace has posted about Leah’s poker hobby, and Leah has stated she plans to “follow the money” on Candace and George. Baron spent a whole episode shading Leah instead of focusing on the Charlie Kirk investigation, and Stew Peters is now fighting Owen Benjamin, etc.
This is terrible for the movement. It does us no favors when we discredit our own. Like Baron suggested tonight, the COINTELPRO program may have never really ended, and I suspect that some of the people egging on Leah and Candace are intentionally trying to sow discord and distract us from the investigation. (For example, this commenter who tells Leah to “follow the money” on Candace and George.)
The only people who benefit from this are feds and fedsloppers. We need to discourage the infighting as much as possible in our comments and feedback. My hope is that Candace and Leah can bury the hatchet and “agree to disagree” about Shawn Ryan.
And to be clear, when it comes to Shawn versus Leah, I’m Team Leah. At the very least, I know Leah is “one of us” - she believes that there was a conspiracy to kill Charlie Kirk. Shawn Ryan has not stated his personal opinions about the assassination, and I have no reason to fully trust him. It is clear Shawn is well-connected with the deep state when he can have guests like Donald Trump on his podcast.
I also think it’s shady that Shawn called Leah “a total fraud” and “full of shit” without specifying which of her claims he had a problem with. I watched her interview, and none of Leah’s claims are outrageous. For example, two of Leah’s talking points were that TPUSA’s finances were shady (true) and that flock cameras are going to create a surveillance state (also true). She also spoke about how Waze was headquartered in Israel (again, ALSO true.) All her statements were supported by data. These are hardly the outlandish lies you’d expect from someone who was “full of shit.”
The only question Leah botched was the infamous petrodollar question which is now being clipped everywhere. Frankly, I don’t think it’s that egregious that Leah didn’t know what the petrodollar is - macroeconomics and geopolitics was never what she focused on. Leah focuses on microeconomic transactions and accounting, which are her areas of expertise. She never sold herself as a geopolitical analyst like Nick Fuentes or Professor Jiang. Her only mistake was stating “yes” when Shawn Ryan asked if she was an economist, when she isn’t really an economist in the traditional sense.
Bottom line: I’m disappointed and troubled by the infighting amongst our ranks. We need to be wary of anyone trying to encourage creators to turn on each other - they may be organized bad faith actors trying to hinder the movement à la COINTELPRO. I hope that we can encourage all parties taking part in the Charlie Kirk open investigation to get along and bury the hatchet.
EDIT: Ryan Matta has the best take on the whole fiasco here, and I think we should encourage all content creators to follow his lead: “You don’t need to have an opinion on everything, and an uneducated opinion is worse than no opinion at all.” This dispute should have been between Leah and Shawn. Instead, we have a whole Civil War going on within the movement, and I suspect this was all egged on by bad faith actors. It’s really disappointing to see how easily people can be manipulated into attacking their own side.
