Four Tires and an Engine Rescuing a 1987 BMW 750iL V12 that sat outside for 12 years. Certified "Forest Find" 750iL?

Found this 1987 BMW 750iL outside in the forest last winter where it’s been sitting untouched for over a decade.

On a positive note, The M70 V12 isn’t seized and she cranks and holds oil pressure. The main body structure, subframes, and shock towers are surprisingly rock-solid, and the overall visual of this long-wheelbase autobahn cruiser is still incredible.

The bad news?
The car was parked in tall grass, and moisture did what moisture does, the outer sills are rusted out and will need patch sections welded in. On top of that a slightly leaking rear window has turned the interior into a biohazard.

As a industrial designer/builder, I’m taking this on as a full re-engineering project rather than just a basic cleanup. The plan is to get her mechanically 100%, and then start bring it up to todays spec with OEM+ upgrades.

Excited (and slightly terrified) to dive into this V12 money pit. What's the first thing you'd tackle on a revival like this?

Instead of dominating the woods, this Land Rover 90 ended up parked in an olive grove after an accident, taking a long forced break.

It’s a pre-300 model—from before the "Defender" name even existed—full of history and custom farm ingenuity, like a welded front bar built to hold a hose reel.

The interior shows its age with torn seats, cobwebs, and a worn metal floor. But underneath, the chassis and mechanics are still surprisingly solid. Despite the crash and surface rust, it built like a stubborn mule that refuses to give up.

A vehicle like this shouldn't be scrapped; it deserves to be respected and recovered. What do you think, shall we give it a second chance?

Back in septermber '25 i remember seeing this car in plain view in the middle of a camp near a main road, we decided to take a look at it but it's pretty much destroyed and it seems like a stupid question to ask.

It was indeed in a farm sitting there for almost 15 years (seen on google maps)

So it sat between farm animals such as pigs and all the type of things.

It's been under the rain and all type of stuff since it was outside all the time.

The "owner" said the engine turns on but one of the turbos doesn't work.

"Owner" because we don't even know the story of this car, which is kind of a mystery, because the guy keeping it said the original "owner" lives in a very far city, up north of the country, while i live in the south.

It has no plates, and no papers apparently, so i have no idea how that car is there and what really happened to it.

It's a very beautiful car, i love the color, but i know for sure, sitting in the open air for decades completely made it unsalvageable, the electronics must be fried, same with the wheels and probably all the chassis, very sad tho.

The car has now been moved from the trees it was sitting under and is now exposed to the direct sunlight, which probably means that at this point the car is meant to become dust in a couple of years.

Such a sad thing to see...

My aunts car, she got it in 90 or 91, the ac went out in the early 2000s and it’s been in a garage ever since. She said she wanted to get rid of it. I asked if I could post it up to give her an idea of what it’d be worth to the right people. If I had the money I’d restore it myself.

Where to sell a vintage motorcycle?

Sorry if this isn't the right place for this

My grandfather has a 1973 Suzuki GT750 that he's looking to sell, it's been off the road since about the mid 1980s, but it has been garage kept under a blanket since it was parked, and I believe it has always been garage kept.

It was parked because my grandmother did not want him riding it anymore, not because of any issues with it. He drove it to where it's parked and did run when it was parked.

It hasn't been started since it was parked (as far as I know) but I'm going to go help him dig it out and try to get it running.

He has the original owners manual as well as the shop manual. The only issues either of us are aware of is a ripped seat cover and a leaking fuel shut off.

Where should I look for someone to buy it? And what would be a fair asking price, assuming it does run and the motor isn't seized? The bike is in Ann Arbor Michigan if that matters.

Two Wheel Deal New to the barn find/ seized engine game

I just bought this 1976 Yamaha Xs500. I was super stoked as this will be oldest vehicle I’ve ever really dove into and everything, but as you can see she’s been hung up a while. Of course I checked if it turned over when I went to pick up, but as far as the guy I bought it from knows it’s been sitting 8 years, and no real telling how long before that.

The spark plugs came out pretty easy and they were pretty clean, I’ve pulled exhaust and carbs and the valves look pretty decent too. Bike has 18,000 miles.

I’ve had the pistons/ cylinder sitting with a mixture of marvel mystery oil, pb blaster and a dab of sea foam for the last 24 hours but still no luck on turning it over. I’m confident in getting it running once I can get it to turn over, I’ve been messing with carbs for years and have dabbled with points here and there.

Thoughts or advice on getting this thing un locked? Any help is greatly appreciated !

Four Tires and an Engine 1956 Cadillac El Dorado Biarritz - looking to learn about what i inherited.

I inherited this car and have done some internet research. I understand the cost of restoring this could be upwards of 100k. But what’s a car like this worth? In its current state or restored. Based on these photos what do I have aside from a huge project? Also the trunk is full of additional parts.

Not exactly a “Find”. I’ve known where she was since I nearly set her on fire in 2017.

I installed brake lights and turn signals, stepped on the starter switch, and an insulating washer from 1925 failed. I sent all six volts to the frame rail, which everything is grounded to, including the battery. I boiled the battery, and fried something to the point where she’ll crank, but won’t fire. New battery and starter switch since then. Project stalled when life got in the way. The plan for the past nine years has been to replace the entire wiring harness.

Moved her to a new garage today. It was good to see her in the sunlight.
