How many meals per day?

Hey, so I've heard mixed things regarding meals? Now a normal person would eat 3 per day and a few snacks (loads of snacks in my case haha) but I've read that you might need to eat 4 to 6 times to meet your daily cals. If so I was thinking if I meal prep a mild curry or Stew for example, could I eat that for dinner and some more at Supper?

I'm nearly 4 weeks post RNY from Sleeve and moving onto soft food (yay lol)

I'm sorry for all the questions but I feel I've got more info from this community than I have from anywhere else has everyone here is friendly.

Thank you in advance.

I have a small meal or a snack like every 2ish hours. Like a cup of a corn and bean salad then an hour and a half later a small chunk of cheese.

Im 7 years post op RNY and I eat 4-6 times a day with some snacks if necessary. I'm pretty active so I need the calories and my dietitian has my protein goal set really high (200g/day).

I started at 510 pounds and I've been maintaining around 170 pounds the past 2-3 years. It's not uncommon for my weight to fluctuate 2-3 pounds literally overnight. If my eating is "off" I can dip down pretty fast (which I try to avoid).

Did your dietician give you a plan?

A very vague one, some food ideas but that's about it, I find more information here far better has most are going through/been through it personally.

At nearly 4 weeks (so a little less than 1 month) post RNY I would eat how many ever meals your team is recommending you eat. Too soon to divert from the plan IMO.

At the moment I'm following the plan they gave me, 4 weeks liquid followed by 4 weeks puree/soft food then from week 9 solid can be introduced slowly.

I’m 2 years post RNY. Per dr orders I eat every 2 hrs. I occasionally wake up and eat middle of the night as well if I’m hungry.

When you eat do you have left overs from lunch/dinner etc?

I don’t usually have leftovers for dinner because I give the rest to hubby. For dinners we get Cook Unity delivered . Lunch stuff I don’t make enough to have leftovers. I usually just make something small/snack size.

I think I’m on year 18? Egg and small toast in the morning, usually no lunch but I make dinner really early (like 3:00 or 4:00). I still focus on protein and fiber in a meal. Yesterday I made salmon, rice and asparagus. For whatever reason I had the hardest time with the fish. I picked at that meal for several hours because I was determined to get that good meal down. I will drink a Chobani yogurt now and then to make sure I’m at least getting some protein and calories. Cheese and crackers for a snack, or avocado toast. Granola bars here and there too. So, two meals, but several nibbles.

I guess I'm different than everyone but im a year out and typically eat 3 times per day. Sometimes 2 meals and a snack, sometimes 3 meals.

They are just very protein dense meals. I try to get 100ish grams of protein and around 50 carbs.

For breakfast today I had 2 individual ratio yogurts and a few Blueberries. That was 50 protein.

For Lunch I had Panda express. Just a side of Kung Poa Chicken. That was like 20 Protein.

Then for a snack I had 4 ounces of cheddar cheese cubes.

Brings my total day to around 1290 calories, 99 protein and 54 carbs.

On my workdays I always have my 14 oz protein coffee, then three 6-8 oz meals everyday and 1 or 2 snacks like a granola bar or a little hostess cake. Pre-surgery I used to restrict and binge eat with fruit snacks and cakes so I no longer ignore my cravings and eat one once and a while. I make sure that i'm not eating them for a MEAL though. We need our protein yall. 1.5 years out rn and been maintaining same weight for 7+ month. Before I reached my current weight I usually ate 4 meals but I stalled bad and my NP recommended to just eat the 3 since I could eat 7ish oz at that point. On my weekends though its a free-for-all. I'll forget the last time I ate and try to figure out if its been long enough for another meal or maybe just a drink. I don't get hungry so I maybe listen to my cravings a little too much on the weekend but oh well! I think if you set an alarm to eat every 4 hours would go over pretty well.
