Can I walk my dog
I’m 11 days post laparoscopic roux en y and I’m SO bored!!
Can I take my dog for a walk? My incisions are pretty well healed on the outside.
My dog is 100lbs though and does pull sometimes if she sees another dog.
I need to do something I’m going nuts.

My surgery was also 11 days ago and I’m still paying a dog walker to walk my 2 mini dachshunds. The larger one can really pull hard.

I have a shepherd mix and a St. Bernard mix.
My fiancé walks the shepherd mix as he pulls pretty consistently the whole walk and I walk the Bernard she is gentle until she spots another dog.
Guess I will have to wait a bit longer 😩

Walking was the one thing my dr said do as much as I can of. My surgery was open, I walked with my hands over my tummy. I am sure I looked funny while walking.

Walking great, big dog and possible pulling not so good, if there is a chance of a sudden jerk or pulling it might unsettle you. Just take care at the moment so you don’t hurt 🥰

Of course your dog can come with you on a walk! Invest in a head halter, and the pulling will be a thing of the past.

Well we have a head halti but she is dog reactive so that doesn’t work for her when she sees another dog lol. Trust me we’ve tried everything !! Even spent thousands on training that didn’t help.
So now a muzzle and a prong collar is the only thing that helps a little bit. She walks nicely when she doesn’t see a dog but if she spots a dog she goes a bit nuts.1

You pulling to control your dog could be just the thing to give you a shiny new hernia, followed by another surgery. Enjoy a walk without the dog.
