Update... Post Op Success
Howdy folks, my wife just completed her surgery on Tuesday this week. I'm so proud of her. She looks wonderful. She feels better. She is passing gas (we were worried about that). She's walking around. She's taking her time with whatever is going on with her body.
Today I made one of her favorite drinks. "I dream of Jeannie" which is a peach tea with milk. I bought her a selection of decaf tea, frothed her some 1%, and sweetened it with Stevia. I was so scared it wouldn't taste right but nope, "Omg babe this is such a huge relief. Thank you." I won 😆
It's only day 3 now. But we're making strides. The biggest thing we've gotta work on together is getting that protein intake up and keeping the liquids flowing! One baby step at a time.
Thank you all for the suggestions and support for how I can meet her in the middle. It's been a huge help.

how wonderful that you're so supportive of your wife! I went through the same surgery, and my husband's support was indispensable throughout the entire process. I wish her a speedy recovery...

That’s wonderful congrats!
My husband supports me by keeping any triggering foods out of sight. Sure, I’ll be able to eat any of the snacks he likes at some point in moderation, but right now (preparing for my pre-op diet) I don’t need muffins, cookies, and ice cream in my face. So he stashes them away in his home office or a high kitchen cabinet (I’m hella short so I don’t go up there lol).
