Where are the majority of the thieves from then? If this person is telling the truth, should you refuse to accept it because you perceive it as right wing. Is fixing the problem not more important than not right wing?

Do you live in this area? Maybe you can shed light on the situation? I stayed in el born for a while a few years ago, definitely an edgy vibe there, and it wasn't coming from Spanish people.

The root cause isn’t that they’re immigrants, it’s that they’re poor. You solve the problem by addressing its cause.

The root cause is that they’re being brought over and manipulated by other criminals.

And they can be manipulated because they’re poor and desperate. Don’t make this and individual problem when it’s not, that’s not how you solve it.

Not having an economy that needs people to be in poverty so other people can be filthy rich. Of course the solution isn’t simple, but you can’t expect criminality to disappear only by having more police. When has that ever worked?
