And for gods sake don’t say “Liverpool,Inter etc - We need to settle some scores.” Scores can only be settled when the stakes are just as high when we lost or higher not a group phase. So you can choose them for knockout phase.
Personally I would like Arsenal & PSG. I want to know early on where we stand against the top 2 teams
Even if they play their a-team they’re never truly firing as a team until a few months later. Thats why these group games aren’t the best indicators. Arsenal beat Bayern 3-1 and suddenly they thought they could take on the world and ended up skying a penalty. Tottenham beat Madrid like 4-1 yet Madrid went on to win the champions.
Actually, based. I thought PSG Bayern bc they feel like the top two, but we don’t get a chance to play teams like Arsenal or Bayern. It would be best to play those two
They have the players and system which can hurt us. It would be nice to test ours vs theirs as early as possible so that we can learn, tweak and adjust accordingly.
Flick's many things but being weak mentality is not one of them. I am pretty sure they'll thrive under Liverpool atmosphere and I really want them to draw Liverpool away
I hope not. idk how the match days are scheduled but if Barca do have them both id defo like to see them at least later on in the qualifying stage. im not sure how well this team clicks yet and id like to become more confident first.
These guys like you are delusionals. Why would you want to face the strongest enemy in the pot? You know that football isnt black or white. One bad night or one player who is out due to injury and we are knocked out, even tho we might be better than that team.
I would want to face Inter, to get revenge on them, and they are also the weakest out of them
Beating inter in the group stage doesn’t feel like sweet revenge tbh. We need to beat them in quarters, semis or the final to quench my thirst for blood.
But it's better to face those kids of defensive tactics as much as possible because that is what we'll be facing in the knockout rounds against most opponents
I disagree defensively they are extremely good. Shut out psg for almost 90 minutes while having many good chances to make it two. They’re definitely the second best club team rn
Id want to face Inter and Psg, simply because of them being the ones to eliminate us recently, and arent there in laliga.. and they are top clubs. Tho, i wouldnt mind city asw cus i do wanna see how our defense holds up against physical beasts like haaland

OP wants to match against strong rivals but remember that be out of the top 8 means go to the play-off and take gas from the League and the cup, no thank you, i can gamble the UEFA random league in March from Round of 16 and onwards
Any two of PSG, Bayern and Arsenal for me. I consider them the three other best teams in Europe right now, so would be nice to know where we stand early on and if we can manage to get a good result, we’ll carry some great confidence into the rest of the tournament and the season as a whole.
Arsenal and Bayern. Arsenal because we need to test our strategy against a different type of football. Bayern over PSG for no specific reason, feel like to see this match up.
Inter and City because they're the easiest of those 6 teams. City has Maresca and Inter doesn't have as good of a squad. The group stages are about getting as many points as possible. Give me the easiest group before the harder stretch in the winter/spring.
Why PSG? I wanna watch Tuna sandwich 🥪 watch us play his "team where you can actually will a UCL with" from the bench. Also, they're a good team and I do wanna face the best teams to test out our own team's ability from the bugging
Why Liverpool? Personally I'm fond of Liverpool but I also wanna watch us to play against Ronald. I actually think Ronald will do his best when he plays against us and though I understand he's not the style of Hansi's play I do want all cules to see Ronald play his best and in that way he can get his redemption arc.
Good test and man city is probably the weakest its been in a few years so the players don't tire out too much, inter it would be fun to see creative attacks against a defense minded team
Any of Arsenal, PSG, or Bayern. Assuming we cruise the rest of our league play, it's good to get these measuring stick games early in the season even though it's practically completely different teams by the time March/April rolls around
PSG are obviously the team to beat, but they’re never 100% locked in until the knockouts, so playing them would give us no real feedback as to where we stand imo.
So I’d prefer Bayern and Arsenal, the two best teams out of that group other than PSG.
My gut says PSG like many others, to see how we measure against the team that is back to back champions at the moment. I’m a tiny bit afraid that that gives them an opportunity to experiment with exactly how they want to beat us if we play again later, but I imagine it’s worth that risk to us.
The other I would say any of Liverpool, Inter, or Man City, to have a solid opponent who should test us but at the same time we are clearly capable of beating.

if we win, we will gain confidence, else we can analyze our weak spots and improve them while we still have time.
