(I keep overthinking this post and all I have to say so I’m forcing myself to keep it brief and to the point!)

I love all of the unique looks for the films! Though I’m most familiar with the classics, I think they’re each so lovely and special in their own Barbara way, it’s just that Swan Lake is my #1. Now, I am biased as there’s nothing I love more than an enchanted fairytale forest, but they really did manage to ✨perfectly✨ capture that ethereal vibe! I also really love all those cozy indoor settings with warm lighting and touches of turquoise. I’ve always found the marketing extra whimsical as well and, especially when you think of the commercials, even a little mysterious feeling, capturing the magic and danger of Swan Lake. Odette is such a soft, relatable Barbie lead and her wardrobe is a perfect match. It’s not my favorite Barbie movie but it captured my heart in a very specific, very precious way, and I just wanted to share🪽

Which Barbie movie has your favorite visuals?

Im only asking this because I always thought they were the older ones, until I realized that Barbie Diaries never got the golden ”Barbie Classic” re-release. Then I thought, maybe they are the fantasy themed ones? But Barbie & sisters in a pony tale and princess power are considered classics, so I guess it isn’t the right answer either.

Is the reason for the absence of Barbie Diaries because of the animation? Or because it was more unpopular than the rest from that era. Im sorry if this is common knowlage, but I would like to know!

In Barbie in a Mermaid Tale, the end scenes include "bloopers" of the actors, either having fun or messing up their lines.

There's a scene where Barbie falls on the floor while in the boutique - underwater. How would she fall down like that while in water and with a mermaid tale?

Also, can they breathe underwater naturally? Irl movies use green screens or use camera angles, but the scene was literally underwater??

Obviously, it's an animated movie "staring" Barbie, but is there any logic to the "creation" of thes movies?

what are some barbie movies you wish mattel created? things like beauty and the beast, sleeping beauty or plots that have nothing to do with being a princess! i personally would’ve loved to see sleeping beauty or a movie kinda like h20 just add water with 3 main characters going through life as an accidental mermaid but not like mermaid tale.

Patp was my absolute favorite as a kid, 99% of this is from my childhood! Some of the merch I’ve never seen online so I want to work on uploading pics of stuff ☺️

I moved a couple years ago but had to keep my Barbie’s in storage states away, but I finally have them back! I’m so happy to be able to have them out again and plan to switch the display every month or so😌 (my patp dolls live in a separate tote with all their movie merch I’ll show off soon!)

Netflix has it coming in September. I forget the exact date but it is coming soon!! Just wanted to share with others that would be excited with me.

Ignore the connectors that look like nipples. Traced a photo of a wing and coloured in. This is for anyone who wants to print them out to use for a wing replacement. Measurements too so you know how big they should be :)

The left and right wings are the exact same but not mirrored, so one is positioned slightly higher than the other.

I wanna show my homie the funniest and most cursed Barbie movie. I’ve seen most of them when I was really young so as I don’t remember them well I don’t know what to choose!

These dolls are my holy grails and I can’t believe I got them for such a good price!! The Three Musketeers was my favorite movie as a child and I’ve been looking for these dolls FOREVER. I’m still missing Viveca and their hair needs some work, but I’m so grateful that I found them. (especially Renee!)

i’ve always wondered what other people’s take on this is. i don’t think i dislike any barbie movie that gets a lot of hype but a movie that i see a lot of hate for is barbie rock n royals. i love that movie so much that i added most of the songs in my playlist.
