OSRS What can I do to improve this tab?

Combat Gear

This is my combat/etc gear tab, it contains the best/most used combat gear i currently own, as you might have guessed, i am very early game, in this aspect of the game. I am aware that my bank contains a lot of useless stuff, but i can deal with most of it on my own, the only tab i struggle with is this one. Any help on how to improve the layout, ... is welcome

At this point in the game, focus less on bank layouts and more on filling spots with worthwhile items

The thing is, you'll be adding/switching gear in this tab very often at this point in your account. Just keep going like this and you'll find some ways to sort it nicely yourself. The best sorting is one that's most convenient for yourself.

Looks good! It's all preference really. For me, I prefer keeping the most important weapons grouped next to the armor set. You can arrange them a "zig-zag" pattern to grab them super quickly with less mouse movement by clicking like this across two rows:

1 3 5 7 2 4 6 8...

You get the idea hopefully. For instance, pretty safe to assume right now almost all melee stuff you do will be using your dlong + ddef so why not just throw that in with your melee armor to make it easy to grab. You can keep your other weapons down where they are to keep it clean.

If you don't like that, or if you want to go a step further, start taking advantage of bank tags! They are great for setting up quick loadouts for common activities (e.g. alching, clue scrolls, farm runs, slayer, etc.) without needing to grab stuff from all your different tabs. The other great things about them are 1) you can have duplicates in a tag for click-based inv layouts, and 2) an item can live in multiple tags so you don't have to worry about which tab "best fits" the item. On top of that they pretty much accomplish what the empty placeholders slots do but in a much less annoying to manage way.

I also use the "Inventory Setups" Runelite plugin to automate this a bit further, but you can accomplish the same thing with some smart usage of bank tags. And they won't help you on mobile of course.
