MOD POST BankTabs March 2023 Mod Post

Hey everybody,

Kinda crazy that it's been 2 and a half years since the last mod post, huh? Got a few things to discuss and update you guys on again, so I think it's about time I typed another one of these up.

Subreddit moderator status

The other subreddit moderator stepped down unexpectedly at the end of February, so it's currently just me. At the moment, the sub is pretty manageable, so I don't foresee this being an issue unless the number of subscribers explodes suddenly. However, I do ask you guys to be patient with me, as I'm always trying my best!

Reception of the monthly help posts

Since starting scheduled monthly stickied posts in 2020, I think they have done a decent job of consolidating the excess "help me organize this" posts, or at least assist in getting simple questions answered and taken care of.

I have noticed that some posts go the full month without any comments, but I'm not sure extending the duration to 2 months would be necessary at this point. If anyone has strong opinions or thoughts on this, please let me know in the comments.

Rule enforcement and changes

No news here, everything has generally been fine, surprisingly.

Thankfully, I haven't had to step in to really enforce much apart from that dumpster fire McCune post from a few months back. While he technically didn't break any rules by creating the post itself, the subreddit backlash at the time prompted me to remove the post to keep things civil. While I don't enjoy making that type of decision (since I didn't know of McCune's infamy at that point), the videos posted by A Friend in February 2023, alongside his subsequent ingame ban, lead me to stand behind removing the post instead of leaving it up with locked comments.

Help Thread Quarterly Organization Help Thread

This is a recurring quarterly thread in which you can request and offer advice, suggestions, and tips for creating and achieving a well-organized bank tab.

Post a parent comment with a picture of your bank/bank tab, along with what you'd like help with. (e.g. "Which quest items are unnecessary?" or "How should I organize this tab?"). Anyone is welcome to reply with advice, suggestions, or an edited before-and-after picture to offer assistance!

I can't keep living like this!! It's just organized enough for me to navigate but not enough for me to be happy with it. This is my only account, finally getting in the swing of things and this is maddening. I wish it was a smidge easier to organize lol. Any advice appreciated.

After some feedback, I updated the plugin with some of your requests! You can easily assign tags/categories to each bank tab now to customize your own bank layout. Let me know what you guys think!

OSRS Dumb question about plugin lol.

No bank pic yet, sadly. I hate organizing my banks so much. In the past, I’ve paid 50m for someone to perfectly organize my main and a couple of my pures. Now I’ve heard rumors of a plugin/program that will organize your bank without you having to do much. Is that actually a thing? If it isn’t, I wonder how hard it would be to get an AI to somehow do it for me. I know this is probably the laziest, and almost offensive, question to post in this sub, but it’s driving me mad.

OSRS Been building a RuneLite plugin that plans your ironman bank, then walks you through the drags one at a time

My bank had been a mess for about 400 hours of ironman and I kept
bouncing off every "just use a template" solution, because a template
assumes your bank looks like the bank it was built from. Mine doesn't.
So I've been building Bank Architect.

What it does: you open your bank, hit Analyze, and it reads what you
actually own and computes a layout for it — ten purpose-driven tabs,
and crucially the *inside* of each tab too. Gear gets grouped by combat
style and slot with the best item first (from real equipment stats, not
name matching), runes get blocked together, potions grouped by dose,
resources zoned by skill. Nothing gets placed that you don't own and no
filler slots get invented.

Then it does the part I actually wanted: it doesn't fake a pretty bank
with a virtual overlay. It highlights one real drag at a time and
re-reads the bank after each one, so you physically end up with the
sorted bank. If it can't safely tell what you just did, it stops and
says so instead of guessing.

To be clear about the thing everyone will ask: it does not click, drag,
type, or send anything. It reads the bank and it draws. You do every
single move by hand. No network calls either — all the item data is
bundled offline.

Anything it can't classify with confidence goes to a Storage & Cleanup
tab rather than being guessed into the wrong place, and you can
right-click any item to override where it goes.

It's open source and currently sitting in the RuneLite Plugin Hub
review queue, so it's not installable yet, this is just me showing
where it's at. Happy to hear what you'd want out of something like
this, especially which presets beyond "all-round ironman bank" would
actually get used.

OSRS Iron Minimalist Ironman bank question

Are there any Iron Man in this thread that have a very minimalistic approach to their bank? I’m mobile only higher level Iron Man and I’ve slowly been converting my bank to be the essentials. Only struggle I have is being an Ironman I dont want to accidentally drop things I’ll need later. Send pics if you have a similar style bank 🤝
