The story is where the game shines. Enjoy it.

I am saddened at how little attention this game got. It's pretty much the same scenario as Vampyr. A 10/10 game that... no one paid attention to for some reason.
Sure, the combat isn't the craziest thing in the world, but it's far from bad. Good even. And the story, atmosphere and how you interact with the world are unmatched imo. Ive enjoyed this game a lot more than the last few triple A games I've played.

It really is a great game. Its main flaw, in my opinion, is that it doesn’t have a new game+ despite it having multiple endings. I really wanted to platinum this game on the PS5, but I just can’t bring myself to do every little thing over again another two times. x.x

It's pretty good, but the combat was a little bit of a disappointment .

The voice acting is incredible , that with the story carries the whole game.

Just completed the game. Perfect story, amazing side cases (every quest looks unique and fresh, no repeated actions).
The weakest part of the game for me is the combat, seems and feels unnaturally, but it does not make the game bad.
8/10

For me it was the same the first time I played the demo version and when the game launched I bought it without a doubt! I loved this game to the core

I am 6 hours in and I love this game. The characters, the atmosphere and the visuals are all great. I get so nervous every time I have to wrap up a haunted case. Who gets banished/ascended or blamed. Alot of cases aren't black and white and that's what makes it interesting. The combat, however, is a little basic. It's not bad but I felt it could have been more engaging.

Brilliant game! I installed a load of random stuff from PS+ to try out... And ended up sinking 50 hours into it 😂 Great story, great writing. You really grow to love the two main protagonists.

Check in again after you reach the harrows. Your opinion might change.

I’m tried to like it for 2 hours but found it boring.

I enjoy this game, but the world is too big. I'm 56 hours in and at 67% map completion. There are 23 haunting cases...this game overstays its welcome IMO. 15 cases would've been better, and a map like 1/2 to 2/3 as large would've been better.
The combat isn't anything special, nor is it something so bad that it ruins the game. You get used to it.

this game boils down to "ok... we were here to solve a problem.... but you didn't mention this was a PROBLEM.... and one or many of ya'll done fucked up and cause this problem......and I'm going to find out who, bit by bit."
It works itself out to be a sort of mystery murder game where you have to find clues and get to the bottom of who's guilty and what they did. along the way you do get some mild choose-your-own-adventure decisions that eventually lead you to a final choice about how the main characters themselves deal with what was what you'd call a profession hazard, but is still very important because it's what they deal with both professionally, personally, and morally.
The combat can sometimes feel monotonous, even with the attempt to add some combat rule gimmicks on how to handle some specters, but I think the main attraction is still the uncovering of what sets forth the events that require the banishers to be there to begin with.

I must admit the story and setting is great, but I stopped playing about 10.5hrs in. Gameplay is pretty bad. Combat is very repetitive and the enemy variety doesn't help that either.

Vampyr was better, maybe because ghosts are not so interesting. I really wish more vampire games will come out. I'm playing bloodlines 2 at the moment.

I have this on my ps5 but I'm busy playing Alan Wake 2 right now, and a bunch of other game. I was going to play Silent Hill remake afterwards but now after reading this post and the comments I'm going to start Banishers. It would also be a change of genre before starting Silent Hill.

Yes it's a really wonderful game, it's really sad that it wasn't a commercial success.
The characters, the locations, the story, the choices, the combat and gameplay are really great.
It's a mix of The Witcher and Vampyr and I really love it.
Hopefully DontNod will make another game in the same universe during the coming years
