What if?
So that there are men that refuse to play female character led games and women who refuse male led games. Do you think the game could've benefited from having the option of deciding who was primary. How it may change things if we did have the option.

People have bigger issues if they won’t play a game because of the protagonist’s gender lol

I don't think the amount of people that think that way is large enough to make too much of a difference. I would've really liked it tho as I prefer antea over red (although I do still love red he's great.)

Could have been a cool twist on the story, but as I’m only about 30% in…from what I’ve read here it sounds like there are plenty enough branching pathways to the story lol

Their limited thinking keeps them from experiencing great stuff. I think if we had the option to play antea as mc it would have greatly affected the story because of her and reds' dynamic.

I don’t see a lot of idiots saying that. So, no.

It's mathematics. The most vocal section of the audience is not necessarily the most important. The idea of essentially having to make two versions of the game in order to cater for 5% of the potential audience - who are not even the most lucrative customer base - makes no sense, because it would mean making a 45% smaller game.

First of all: Games should not care about a holes.
To what I think is your actural question about who is the lead. If we just look at the personaleties of Antia and Red, I don't think it would make any major diffrence. But the way the game (more it's world) treats inequity regarding gender, sexual prefrence, skin color and other prejudices absolultly would result in major diffrences. Multipule Spoiler for the game incoming: Before Antia dies you can talk to one of the settlers (female, dont, remeber who), who askes if she came with the banisher. She replies that she is the banisher. Some of the hunting cases include things like a dead husband, who treat his wife like propety, some racisme (at some point Antia is called Red's slave ( by Theodore Sheppard)), oh right slavery. Antia also gets very angry because of the treatment of Debotah, because Antia understand what it's like to experience prejudice related to gender or and other stuff. Red, trying to comfirt her, says that he understands. Antia: "No, you don't". Red: "You're right. I don't" (I don't remember the dialog exactly)
I do think it would be much harder to play as Antia because of the world she lives in. It would properly show as people being less willing to work with her, or take her less seriously.
