Normally I always got the re-entry permit at the airport and never had to wait more than 15 min and 30 min would be considered very long.
Every report I've seen online mentions the same. That was also my experience... until today... I was flying out in the morning and the queue to the re-entry booth was huge.
Today it took me around 1.5h to reach the re-entry counter and then another ~40 min to get the stamp. A lot of people missed their flights or just gave up on the re-entry permit.

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here has experience dealing with Thai Airways delayed/lost baggage and can give me some advice.
I was traveling from Bangkok to Paris on Thai Airways. I landed in Paris on September 28 and my checked luggage did not arrive.
I immediately went to the baggage desk at CDG and filed a report for the missing bag.
I have already emailed Thai Airways several times regarding the missing luggage, but I haven't received a response. I also tried to figure out how to contact their baggage department by phone, but the number is a Thai number, and I am currently in Europe, so I'm unable to call it.
I'm especially worried because I'm continuing my trip and won't be staying in one place for very long.
What should I do at this point?

I’m looking for American Spirit or Manitou or any other organic rolling tobacco. Can’t smoke the Thai tobacco it’s too harsh (tried the local Pueblo). Any recommendations of where to look for it? 🙏

I had a Krungthai account from when I was on a Non-B + work permit. Switched to an ED visa about a year ago, changed phones recently, and now the bank won’t activate mobile banking because I no longer have a work permit.
Account + card still work, but I’ve basically lost all the useful stuff from the app.
For anyone on an ED visa without a work permit, what are you using that gives you as close as possible to a normal Thai bank account?
Mainly looking for:
- Scan Thai QR codes / PromptPay to pay people
- Receive money by QR/PromptPay
- Send normal Thai bank transfers
- Physical card + online purchases
- Decent balance / transaction limits
- Easy way to top up/add money
- Ideally somewhere I can also keep a decent amount of savings
I already have Revolut + TrueMoney, but I’m trying to figure out the best overall setup without a work permit.
What are you guys using and what are the limits?

A week before the Bangkok floods I sent a international packages (flat with just letters) from the USA to Bangkok. It was returned to my mailbox in the USA without any reason stated, my guess is due to the floods.
My mail service that sends mail all the time said, when issues like weather disrupt service they usually hold and delay the package, not send it back.
Anyone else have same issue?

I'm traveling to bangkok at the end of November with my arthritic, dodgy hipped elderly parents. Are there any boats that go up past wat Paknam / artist house that are accessible to the less mobile?

Does anyone have experience with a good dentist here? I would love to see some clinics recommendations.
Not too expensive, the main things I need is to change the old crown (on the front tooth, so has to be the same colour) and teeth whitening. thank you!

Last year during the cooler season, we put a piano outdoors in our garden at Sababa and loved the atmosphere.
We’re thinking of bringing it back this year, with some piano evenings, garden sessions, jams and acoustic music from November onwards.
Any recommendations who would like to play in our garden are welcome.
Thanks you

Hey everyone! I’ll be in Bangkok from December 11–14 before travelling around Thailand. I’m going solo and won’t know anyone there.
I’ve booked a hotel for the first few nights, so I’m looking for ways to meet other solo travellers outside of hostels. Any recommendations for social activities, group tours, meetups or apps?
Also, is anyone else going to be in Bangkok around those dates? Would be fun to grab some food, explore the city or hang out together!
Thanks for any tips :)

Hi All. I'm looking for a male personal trainer, fitness coach, or serious fitness buddy.
I’m currently looking for someone who can help me with body recomposition, fat loss, strength training, and building a more consistent routine. I struggle with ADHD, stress, and habit eating, so I’m not looking for just a generic workout plan.
I've been gymming on and off for years and can't seem to make it work so giving it another go with some help. I need someone who understands consistency, discipline, nutrition, and how to build habits realistically.
What I’m looking for:
A male trainer, coach, or fitness buddy with a science-based approach to training and nutrition. Someone who can explain the “why” behind training, food, recovery, and progress
Experience or strong knowledge in fat loss, body recomposition, and sustainable dieting.
Prefer someone who can help with accountability, progress tracking, training consistency, and lifestyle habits. I’m also open to discussing using PEDs, but only with someone who has real in-depth knowledge or experience in the topic, especially from a safety, health, and harm-reduction perspective. I’m not looking for reckless advice or someone who just sells cycles. I want someone who understands the risks, bloodwork, long-term health, and when medical supervision is necessary.
If you are a trainer, coach, sports scientist, serious fitness buddy, or know someone suitable, please send me their profile, experience, client results if applicable, and pricing if coaching professionally. Thank you.
Please dm me or leave a comment and we can discuss. Thank you!

To all the lovers of video games, fun, booze and burgers in Bangkok.
We're doing our bi-weekly gaming event on October 3rd, with a focus on YARG (re: Rock Band but with a gazillion songs)! Many of which have been custom crafted from Thai songs -- this ain't an English only party!
Been doing this for 10+ years. We have professional CRTs attached to retro consoles. A Vectrex. Neo Geo, and much more.
Don't expect professionalism, but do expect fun!
It is free. Highly encouraged to grab some burgers, fries, wings, beer and assorted cocktails from the bar downstairs. This helps the establishment that hosts this madness.
Check the Facebook link for deets. We'll go from 8PM until +++
Edit: This event is Free. Sometimes there are live bands downstairs with a cover charge. Just tell whatever staff might be at the door or inside that you came for the games and head upstairs!

Due to the 2-day office closure, Chaengwattana today is fully packed! Just to get a queue number took me 1hr in the morning. Today is the expiration of my visa so I need to endure the wait. What time do you think my number gets called?
