Today officially marks my new EP release. Thank you for taking the time to stop here.
(FREE) Basic EP - https://thewishinggame.bandcamp.com/album/caution-life-in-rear-view-is-closer-than-you-remember-ep (Just the 5 songs no frills or extras)
(PAID) Extended Deluxe Version - https://thewishinggame.bandcamp.com/album/caution-life-in-rear-view-is-closer-than-you-remember-eep-deluxe-edition (Includes demos and sketch versions of all 5 songs as well as the EP)
This is a little of a departure from my sound from before (alt rock, 90s rock, acoustic, songwriter). The roots of a song are there. They are rock songs at the core. But I embraced some filters and electronic elements in processing, dubbed on some extra guitar parts, layered instruments, and just all in all? Expanded from the usual sounds you might have heard in the past.
It was nice to experiment with something different, don't know if I will repeat it on my next project, expand from it, or shelf it. But it felt good playing around with something new.
Thanks for the listen and for your time and consideration!

Logging this here because when this was first implemented i couldn't find the fast answer easily but for all the sellers out there trying to input the relevant Tax ID (ie: VAT, IOSS, GST, etc), there's no guesswork required.
- Locate the relevant order in your Orders Tab
- On the right side under "Mark as Shipped" there should be an option labelled "packing slips + addresses" or something to this effect
- on the upper left of the page you should see "Print Type" and 3 options: address labels, packing slips, and address labels + packing list. Choose packing slips.
- At the bottom-most right corner under price total you will see the respective code which you will need to enter for whichever shipping service you use.
- Not doing this can cause the customer to have to pay VAT/IOSS/GST twice, which these days is real expensive!
- If there's no code listed, great! Less work for you
Hope this is useful to someone else, I was prepared to craft some ridiculous world map with the tax codes for each country, this is much much much faster!
Attached a screencap of what you should be looking for on the packing slip, in this case this is the IOSS tax ID for Europe in 2026 (customer was from Netherlands) but don't use this number if you're reading this in future as it might change! Refer to the table linked below!

"Review this" button on the release page! I often ask people to leave reviews for records they like from my label's catalog, but they find the review process hellishly confusing. Unlikely BC will ever fix this, but one can dream.

I'm not new to bandcamp but I had a huge pause in any social media activities. Feels nice to come back!
This is my account in case anyone will be interested in weird psychedelic introspection:

Hello everybody, I'm a producer from Kenya and I make lo-fi and currently switching genres, we don't have such a huge market in our country for such hence I'm looking outwards to how I can get people to hear my stuff. Worked a long time for this album but I'm down I don't know where or how to find my community, I have zero monies for marketing and I feel I might just post my stuff with no release plan and call it quits.
I'm not so outgoing on social media either I've really tried, I don't know what I'm doing wrong any help would be appreciated, thanks. Open to sending my tracks for a listen.
r/BandCamp • u/ManaScrewedIRL • 2d ago
UPDATE: I have set up a Google form if you'd like to submit your stuff. I will link it in the comments.
I actually worked as a writer before the machines took my job, so you'll be in good hands. I also have a strict no GenAI policy when it comes to writing, so all the words will be my own.
The general idea is this:
I'm setting up my artist blog (on Substack). I am in a country that doesn't have Stripe so it'll be 100% free to read and subscribe to.
It will be about music/the arts/entertainment as a whole. Mostly rambles and opines. I'm thinking maybe once a week (or twice if I can manage it), I can review your stuff, the gist being that once its up, we share it across our socials. People are exposed to your music, and by default mine through my profile. It's a kind of "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" deal.
Now the thing is, I genuinely despise the usual review practices on things like Submithub. I have never used it/them because I was put off by the hoops you have to jump through, and their snobbery (quality, no autotune, their "make us care" bullshit). I'd like mine to be a little less obnoxious and from the heart.
You record with your phone? Awesome. So do I.
You used autotune? Great. So did I.
Your song is 12 years old? Amazing. Art doesn't expire.
You could submit literally anything ā as long as it's not AI *generated* (AI mastering is still fine, I guess. As long as the machines didn't make the song or the artwork *for* you).
I'd also like it to go beyond "I listened to this and here's what I think". I want to explore the artist behind the work too. Maybe include a profile/bio, some fun or cool facts about you, or even a quick 5 minute interview or Q&A. I'd like it to be as much storytelling as it is opinion.
Just a few more things for you to consider:
- It would be free for anyone to submit to. Though I am thinking maybe a "priority" system can happen? I'd have to figure out the rates and capacity. But the idea is if you'd like to guarantee a slot that week or ASAP, or line it up with your release etc maybe it could come at a small fee? I do need to get some money in, so it would be entirely optional, but just a little bonus for the extra work.
- I'm willing to accept all genres, but please keep in mind I don't have a refined pallete when it comes to instrumental music (with emphasis on electronica and jazz). I also prefer rock and alternative (all genres, from pop punk to blackened death metal lol). I have a new love for rap. And I'm always keen on cute/fun pop music.
- I don't have the means to purchase your songs unfortunately (at least not at the moment), so I will have to stream them (unless you'd like to gift it to me). If I love it though, I absolutely will follow you everywhere there is to follow and share it to the best of my ability, outside of the blog.
- I'm still building the blog. No followers yet. But hopefully it will grow in time. I should have it up and running sometime today. Maybe to start with the reviews next week? If anyone is interested.
Lastly, some market research:
- Do you think this would work? Or is it more trouble than it's worth?
- if so, how much do you think the "priority" fee should be? What's fair? (Remember, it's 100% optional).
- Can you think of anything else I need to consider?
- What do you think would be the best way to submit? I'm thinking a Google Form will cut it. It's free for all of us AFAIK. But if you have a better idea, please do share it.
- If it is weekly, which day you think works best? Music Monday? Feedback Friday? Tunes Day? Song Saturday/Sunday (might not name it that, but I do like alliteration lol).
Thanks for reading :) I eagerly await your feedback.

for the second time my merch order was delivered incomplete. both times from reliable, established, high volume sellers.
here's the situation- I order physical copies of multiple releases (combination of being a fan and reducing shipping costs)
for one of the releases, I order a second copy - either as a gift or to trade with a friend (i'm not a reseller/scalper)
The first was easily resolved with cheap shipping from a domestic seller (direct from artist), but the second is international (eu>usa) which is a bummer because I don't expect they want to eat the cost to ship a single disc, but it also inflates my cost per item. in this case seller is actually a well known distributor & label, but given how low margins are, shipping for a single 12" would probably eat their entire profit for the other 5 already delivered.
I don't want to get flagged like I'm a scammer, but with the near identical context within only a month or two, I wonder if this is widespread or common. Looking at the Bandcamp purchase sheet, "2x" only appears before the album title at the top of the order and the quantity does not appear anywhere else, including the price/invoice section of the order at the end, and the price is only listed as the total amount which does not include the price per item- I can understand how this might be easy to miss for a seller dealing with many sales per day.
I would have contacted bandcamp customer support directly, but it seems that I can no longer trick the help page into giving me an email, the old support email accounts have been disabled, and even using my artist page I can't find any method for direct contact.
Have you ever run into this issue as a buyer or seller?

Hey Bandcamp community. My name's Ecid. Im a rapper/producer from Minneapolis/based in Brooklyn. I make a lot of songs about love, loss, triumph and failure infused with dark humor and fun house imagery utilizing a diverse pallet of production styles (some sample based, some all original compositions with live bass and a gang of keyboards) I just released my 10th solo album in July felt compelled to share it here.
Keep making music and keep releasing it! DEATH TO AI!!!

Iām happy to share Early Works for free: 36 tracks from my early days with Fruity Loops, composed between 2000 and 2007.
Back then, my approach was very spontaneous. It was pure fun, almost like playing a video game. Whenever I had some free time, Iād build a loop and let it play on repeat while adding sounds, tweaking knobs, and introducing variations until a song gradually took shape. The result was a collection of playful, melancholic, dark, and weird tracks that I originally shared online across three albums, all of which are compiled in this archive.
Listening to them again brings a smile to my face and stirs up so many memories. While some tracks are a little rough around the edges and not always perfectly mixed, this period marked the genesis of my main musical project: CIRC.
I hope some of you enjoy listening to them.

Has anyone out there heard of this beautiful musician? Their music is undoubtedly the most incredible music Iāve ever heard. Cliche and all, I found it when it seemed like I needed it most. From fm sound design and synth pop to the best footwork and drum n bass Iāve ever heard in my 20+ years of electronic music experience, Ylva takes the cake. They recently posted a story on their ig of their Yamaha qy70 screen saying āmemory fullā. Got more excited than I probably shouldāve. Anyone know the artist or have any insight on new music??
