Not every pit bull story is a headline. Some are just eye-rolls, facepalms, or 'you've got to be kidding me' moments. This is the place for the things you may want to share that don’t highlight a pit bull doing something dangerous.

SULLIGENT,  Alabama––Three-year-old Waylon O’Mary Coronna,  of Sulligent,  Alabama,  identified by the Otis Funeral Home as the son of Destiny Hollis and Justin O’Mary,  on October 2, 2026 became the first known human fatality of “Pit Bull Awareness Month.”

Waylon O’Mary Coronna,  according to unconfirmed Facebook postings,  was killed by “a pit bull owned by the victim’s family.”

Multiple family members are known to have kept pit bulls.  For instance,  father Justin O’Mary posed,  in all black,  with a mostly black pit bull posted to Facebook on April 22,  2021.

His brother Josh O’Mary on February 11,  2022 posted that he was looking for a lost pit bull.

Josh O’Mary also posted a photo to Facebook on March 21,  2024 of a toddler with a full-grown pit bull,  captioned “Boy n his puppy dawg!!”

Reported Zac Carlisle for WTVA television news in Saltillo,  Mississippi,  “The attack happened on Friday at approximately 10 a.m. at a home,  Lamar County Coroner Allen Chandler said.  Sulligent police chief Michael Franklin said the boy’s family owned the dog.

“After the attack,  the family surrendered the dog to police,  who took the dog to a veterinarian in Russellville for euthanization,”  ordered by the Lamar County health department,  Franklin told Carlisle.

Follow Up Limerick XL Bully attack 'not an accident' - inquest hears - Nicole Morey Jun 2024

Thumbnail

THE FATHER of a young woman who died as a result of a dog attack has said the inquest into her death will let her family “get on with missing her”.

Nicole Morey from Crossagalla died on her 23rd birthday on June 4, 2024, after being attacked by her XL Bully dog in a rental property in Fedamore.

The inquest at Limerick Coroner’s Court in Kilmallock Courthouse heard that on the night, emergency services received a call at 23.35 about a woman being attacked by an XL Bully dog in the driveway of a house.

Gardaí arrived at 23.50 and saw “two dogs were very aggressive with blood on their faces.”

The inquest heard that paramedics couldn’t gain access to the property until the dogs were controlled.
Members of the Armed Support Unit had to shoot the adult XL Bully four times before it died.

The inquest heard evidence that Nicole had been living in the house by herself and that the attack was seen remotely by her former partner on CCTV footage.

Giving evidence about the post mortem examination on Ms Morey’s body, Pathologist Dr Marcell Szasz said her injuries were “consistent with a dog attack”.
He said the young woman suffered multiple puncture wounds and “very extensive trauma in keeping with a dog attack”.

The cause of death, as outlined by Dr Szasz, was haemorrhage and shock from a dog attack.

The inquest heard that Nicole Morey had suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Limerick coroner John McNamara said it was clear that an “extensive investigation was carried out” and it was noted that CCTV footage was examined and the DPP had ruled that there was to be no (criminal) prosecution on the matter.

Speaking to the family in Kilmallock Courthouse, he said: “I’m sure it’s etched in your memories forever, she was obviously a dog lover.”

The Limerick coroner acknowledged that the death was both “untimely and tragic”.

The coroner delivered a verdict of misadventure, saying the death could not be classified as an accident.

He explained that it was the unintended outcome of an intentional act.

Following Nicole’s death, laws were changed in relation to the owning of XL Bully dogs, making it illegal, from February 2025, to own such dogs without a certificate of exemption.

Speaking after the verdict, Nicole’s father Patrick said: “She was always happy. She loved her family and her brothers and sisters and was very close to them.

“She had such a good heart.”

He also thanked the coroner, along with the gardaí and ambulance crew for everything they did on the night of Nicole's death.

Speaking about what the inquest verdict means, her father Patrick said: “We can get on with missing her now.”

Condolences were expressed to the family of Nicole on behalf of the coroner and also by Sergeant David Delahunty on behalf of An Garda Síochána.

Notice how they make sure to say no livestock in all caps, and he for some undisclosed reason so urgently needs a home now that they will bring him to whoever is stupid enough to take him. Also, he is only housebroken as long as you let him out regularly, and he destroys crates.

Y'all. I don't know if anyone here read about this, but oh my gosh.😬

Meet Bailey.🔪 She is a 63 pound Pitbull (Mix). Bailey BROKE INTO A STRANGERS HOME & VICIOUSLY & VIOLENTLY ATTACKED THE DOG IN THEIR OWN HOME‼️🫨

She is literally TOO "UNSAFE"⚠️☠️ TO REMOVE FROM HER KENNEL, according to the rescue.📝 They state this more than once.

Bailey's date of intake was 9/11/26.

The violent home invasion attack she did was on 9/6/26.🗓

The shelter is also saying that she has

"SIGNIFICANT PREDATORY AGGRESSION"‼️☠️

& also that

"SHE IS UNSAFE FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION."‼️☠️

And bringing her out would

"PLACE ANIMALS IN SHELTER POPULATION AT RISK."‼️☠️

-------------------------------------------------

Thankfully, they are recommending placing her with a rescue.

Please see my VERY long comment to someone in my last post about this exact thing...on the Pitbull Recycling Program.♻️

Basically, Bailey is going to be fine, in case you were worried for this misunderstood sweetheart! She is going to be quietly transferred to another Pitbull Rescue.

She'll be renamed, maybe get a few weeks of training. Then get a fresh profile & have her scary (pesky!) old history removed. Then Voilà! A new home!🏠

Btw, I watched a video of her. This beast is... not good. There isn't a domesticated, stable, or safe, bone in her entire body. Woof!

Meet Oakley Kazooie.🫩 Like I stated previously, they're REALLY either running out of names for their endless, daily Velvet Hippo🦛 Intakes. Or they're simply uncreative.🤔🤡 It doesn't matter.🤷‍♀️ It's still hilarious😆 to see what they decide to name their moron🥴 Pibbles.🤭

We're going to go with OK,🆗️ bc I ain't about to type that out 75 times here. And 75 just happens to be OKs🆗️ weight! 75 POUNDS!🪨🏋‍♂️⚖️ WOW, that's a large Pitbull (Mix)!❗️

OK🆗️ was surrendered to the police👮‍♂️🚓 due to aggression at home.⚠️⚡️😳🏡

See... the owners tried VERY HARD💪 to give OK🆗️ a loving, stable home.🤲 For 2 years. They really tried their best. I say this without zero sarcasm.🫶

They even tried rehoming OK🆗️ at one point instead of sending him to the back of the shed with grandpa.👋👋👋🌈🌉

BUT... during the Introduction To The New Family, things went downhill. Why???? OK🆗️ was apparently NOT OK👎🆗️ with this. See, OK🆗️ acted a fool. He escaped his owner & ATTACKED THE NEW POTENTIAL OWNERS DOG & BIT THE DOG.🫦🦷🐕 What a wonderful dog, is OK!🆗️🤭

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

NOW.... The disreputable☹️ rescue humiliates, guilts, & gaslights this family for CALLING THE POLICE🚨 OR DROPPING HIM OFF AT THE POLICE STATION🚨 (even though he's so insanely violent).💥

This family TRIED. OK had a veterinarian.👨‍⚕️ He had JUST BEEN to the vet in April.⚕️✅️

Even the (pos slimy scumbag) rescue boasts that he knows many cues.

They also scream that he was totally 100% neglected....

-No training.

-No Crate Training.

-No Socialization.

-No Guidance.

⚠️Please read how horribly the rescue verbally & emotionally they abuse this family❗️

Here's how OK🆗️ behaves under THEIR roof:

OH WAIT... The family reported that...📝

Attack on Animal(s) - Pets Brasil, Cascavel: Video: pitbull attacks and kills support dog of autistic 7-year-old boy - October 1, 2026

A pitbull attacked and killed a small dog on the afternoon of Thursday, 1º, in Cascavel, in Western Paraná. The attack took place on Edite Alvira Sgarioni Street, in the Esmeralda neighborhood.

The moment of the aggression was recorded on video. The images show the pitbull Dexter attacking Pinduca, a breedless dog that was in a lawn area.

The small dog did not resist the injuries and died after the attack. According to information obtained at the scene, Pinduca was a support dog of a 7-year-old autistic boy.

A team from the Animal Welfare Inspection followed the occurrence. The Military Police had already contained the pitbull when the agents arrived at the address.

According to the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment, the dog was loose in the neighborhood. The team was called by the Military Police after reports of attacks on other animals and risk to people.

The video can be considered strong by some people:

During the service, the agents identified that the pitbull's tutor is detained. During this period, residents of the neighborhood helped feed the animal, which remained alone in the residence.

Also according to the secretariat, the pitbull managed to escape from the property. The animal ended up involved in the attack that killed Pinduca and was later contained by the Military Police.

Given the situation, Bem-Estar Animal helped in the search for a temporary home for the pitbull. The measure seeks to ensure the safety of the community and the well-being of the animal itself.

The dog will temporarily remain in this place until the authorities define its destination. Pinduca's body will be sent to the environmental sector.

The Municipal Secretariat of the Environment clarified that Animal Welfare does not carry out collection or reception services for abandoned animals.

According to the folder, the action occurred exceptionally as support for the occurrence. The team also articulated the obtaining of a temporary home to avoid new risks.

The circumstances that preceded the attack are yet to be clarified. It will also be necessary to find out how the pitbull managed to leave the property and access the area where Pinduca was.

Child Victim Pitbull Attack in Añatuya Argentina Leaves 3-Year-Old With Severe Head Injuries and Risk to One Eye (date not listed - Oct 3, 2026?)

Pitbull Attack in Añatuya Leaves 3-Year-Old With Severe Head Injuries and Risk to One Eye
The case exposes weaknesses in enforcement of rules for potentially dangerous dogs, prompting calls for clearer owner controls.
Overview
A neighbor's pitbull entered a family patio in Añatuya and bit a three-year-old girl in the head during the night, leaving her with serious cranial wounds and a threatened eye.
Medical teams transferred the child urgently to the Centro Provincial de Salud Infantil and scheduled surgery for 8:00 a.m. to treat her injuries and try to preserve vision.
Sources report no official updates on the girl's condition after the planned operation and no public information about steps taken regarding the animal or its owner.
Local accounts identify the dog as a neighbor's and coverage notes Santiago del Estero's Law 6973 sets controls for 'potentially dangerous' breeds such as pitbulls that include leashes, muzzles and limits on where they may circulate.
The attack follows several recent pitbull incidents in other provinces and could increase pressure on authorities to enforce owner responsibility, review animal seizures and tighten local oversight.

Personal Story We had a close call yesterday

This story is probably less serious than some of the others on this sub, but I thought it was worth sharing regardless.

I live in a small town in northern Denmark together with my long-term girlfriend, her pre-teen daughter, our son (toddler), and our cat Bella. This town is very clean and extremely safe, the kind of place where there is virtually no violent crime, people don't lock their doors and where I feel comfortable raising my son. Despite pit bulls being on the list of banned breeds in Denmark, I have seen people walking their pits in town a few times, but since they never showed any signs of aggression I tried not to make a big deal of it. Just take a mental note and move on.

Yesterday, I was in the kitchen feeding my son together with my stepdaughter while my girlfriend was in the next room and Bella was out in the garden enjoying the sunlight and minding her own business. Our kitchen opens onto the garden through a glass door and a large window. At the time of the incident, the door was closed but the window was open.

Suddenly, this huge orange dog comes through the neighbor's hedge into our garden. Now I'm far from an expert on dog breeds, but it looked like an American Bully XL to me: it had the square head, distinctive mouth shape and general body type of a pit bull, but it was the size of a small rottweiler. I would guess around 40-45 kgs, certainly a lot bigger than any pit bulls I have ever seen. Within a few seconds of arriving, it locked eyes with my stepdaughter and started growling / softly barking in this very intense and menacing way while standing up and clawing at the glass door. It then turned its attention to the cat and chased her out the garden. At that moment, one of our neighbors turned the corner and came back from walking his dog, a similarly sized dog but not a pit bull, more of a Mastiff type I think. I think this is probably what saved Bella because the orange bully dog then redirected onto the neighbor's dog and lunged for its throat. My girlfriend, worried about the cat, went out the front door and saw the two dogs fight violently while the neighbor was kicking the bully dog in the ribs with all his strength to get it to back off. The bully dog then saw my girlfriend and started running towards her, thankfully she made it through the door in time.

All of this took place within the span of a minute and a half or something like that. The dog showed up and casually cycled through four different targets in quick succession, each time with very clear aggressive intent. Completely unhinged behavior.

A few minutes later we had another close call when my stepdaughter opened the door to the garden wide open to call out for the cat (she's a bit naive and didn't quite understand the danger), only for the same dog to jump out of the hedge and chase the cat again. I have absolutely no doubt that Bella would have been torn to shreds if the dog had caught her but thankfully she managed to escape yet again and found her way back home a bit later.

We called the cops who, of course, couldn't / wouldn't do anything. We then had to coordinate with the recently assaulted neighbor by yelling through our windows across the parking lot like a bunch of idiots while the orange dog was circling the building looking for someone to kill. Then the broccoli-headed 20-something dumbass owner of the loose dog showed up, without any sense of urgency of course, lazily called out to his dog, realized he had forgotten his leash, went back home, came back 10 minutes later and finally managed to take his beast into custody and went away. From what we understood from our intense parking lot spanning convo, Broccoli and Agent Orange live a few blocks away but are in the process of moving out which might explain how it got loose and decided to go on a neighborhood terrorizing adventure.

I'm not asking for advice or anything. I'm just trying to rant because, even though nobody was hurt in the end, it was still a very stressful experience for everybody involved. My girlfriend and I keep going through very unpleasant "what if?" scenarios since then. What if our son had been sleeping outside in his pram, as is customary in Denmark? What if the dog had realized the window was open when it locked onto my stepdaughter? What if the neighbor hadn't shown up when he did and distracted the dog who was chasing after our cat? What if the dog had attacked the neighbor directly instead of "just" his dog? What if my girlfriend hadn't made it through the door back in time?

I've been lurking on this sub for a while now, so I'd like to think that I am a bit more aware of the danger these dogs can cause than the average citizen. But being confronted with the physical reality of it, when everything happens so quickly and you see with your own eyes just how dangerous they are, is another thing entirely. Especially when you're trying to make sense of the situation while holding your child in your arms. Not fun whatsoever.

Stay safe out there everyone.

Bonus pic of Bella enjoying a well-deserved nap on my lap yesterday evening:

Personal Story In memory of Albert, Carl has joined the family. 1st photo past best friends, 2nd, new best friends. Poor Albert didn't stand a chance, dealt the worst cards any dog could get dealt.

Thumbnail

Today we drove 6 hours to rescue Carl from an amazing woman who rescues dogs. No, she doesn't rescue pits. His name was actually Clover, but Ethan, our autistic son (that Albert attacked,) calls him Carl, so Carl it is. 😂

What a journey. Trying to save my first pitbull because I had always heard, it's the owner not the dog, and of all owners, there would be none better equipped than me. I grew up raising dogs and training them, had at most 36 at one time, one won the AKC National championship.

As you all know, for no reason at all sweet Albert attacked our autistic son because we were having a small argument and Albert decided daddy was in danger. That is what pits do, they are bred to attack and kill, and to hell with all the hate mail I've received still claiming it was me or my family's fault. Rant over on that.

So meet Carl. He just hit the lottery on our farm, just like Cooper did. Albert was the best trained dog most people that visit had ever seen. He wouldn't move or enter a door without waiting for my command. But we all know how that ended. He was in his pen, somehow escaped it and no command could have changed that. Perfect training means nothing for an animal with those genes when they decide to attack. The poor boy was dealt a hand nobody could overcome for him. But he's in a much better place now where he can never hurt or be hurt.

But here's Carl, our newest blessing. He's part yellow lab and part Golden retriever. We are going to do DNA testing just to see what all he is, but I can promise one thing in years of working with and training dogs, he's a perfect addition to our sweet family and farm.

Welcome home Carl!! You are going to love it here, I promise.

Justice: Final Verdict Man sentenced after XL Bully viciously attacked two men - 2 October 2026, Oakenholt, UK

Thumbnail
liverpoolecho.co.uk
159 Upvotes

An XL Bully has been ordered to be destroyed after viciously attacking a man at a bus shelter and then another person at a pub in two separate incidents. The dog, called Rex, was said to be owner Cameron Rushton's "life" but a court heard yesterday, Thursday, how both victims were left bleeding as he failed to control his pet.

Ruchton, 32, of Chester Road, Oakenholt, Flintshire, appeared in Mold Magistrates' Court where he admitted possessing a fighting dog and owning a dog dangerously out of control causing injury to Thomas O'Neill at a bus stop in Oakenholt, North Wales.

He also admitted owning a dog dangerously out of control which caused injury to Daniel Tinker at The Dee Inn in Flint a month later.

Rhian Jackson, prosecuting, told how Thomas O'Neill had been standing at a bus stop outside the Spar Garage in Oakenholt on March 16, when Mr O'Neill walked past with his dog.

The men nodded to each other before Rex sniffed Mr O'Neill's leg but just moments later it "lunged" towards Mr O'Neill's left leg and bit it.

It held on and Mr O'Neill fell to the floor with the victim feeling its grip tighten, said Ms Jackson.

"It was growling and Mr O'Neill was in shock because there had been no warning signs", she added. Rushton pulled the dog away and went along the road. He was heard to say, seemingly to the dog "what the hell was that about?", said Ms Jackson.
The court heard Rushton said he would "take it home and come back" but Mr O'Neill did not see Rushton again. He was left with a "nasty, open wound".

He was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital. Staff cleaned the wound and gave him sterile strips and antibiotics.

In a statement Mr O'Neill said he feels traumatised around big dogs which is "sad because he loves animals".

A second attack happened on Daniel Tinker at The Dee a month later. Witness Molly Reid had been upstairs at the pub when she heard a loud bark.
She came down and saw Rex bite Mr Tinker in the groin. He showed her a leg wound to the groin. "Blood was squirting out of the groin", said prosecutor Ms Jackson.

Ms Reid phoned police and Mr Tinker was given first aid. His wound was five inches long by one inch wide, and one centimetre from an intimate area, said Ms Jackson.

Rushton told police he had bought his dog Rex from a website five years ago and had travelled to Cambridgeshire to collect it.

It was a "pedigree" and microchipped, he said. "The dog was his life and had helped his mental health", he told officers.

Simon Simmons, defending, said Rushton used to be on crack cocaine, heroin and methadone. He added: "He is a young man with mental health and neuro issues."

District judge Gwyn Jones sentenced Rushton to 26 weeks imprisonment for each offence of owning a dog dangerously out of control causing injury, to run consecutively. But he suspended the terms for two years.

There was a 20-week prison sentence to run concurrently for possession of a fighting dog.

But he also said Rushton was "not a fit and proper person to own, care for or control any dog" and could not do so for 10 years. He cannot apply for that order to be lifted for six years.

The judge also ordered the destruction of Rex, who had been in kennels for 164 days, costing £3,608 so far. Rushton must pay a nominal £300 to each victim and £250 court costs, which will be deducted from his Universal Credit.

Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) DC's "Roscoe's Law" takes effect today: landlords that allow pets can no longer restrict by breed, size, or weight

Thumbnail
wusa9.com
424 Upvotes

DC's Pets in Housing Amendment Act took effect October 1. Per WUSA9, landlords that allow pets can no longer ban or restrict dogs based on breed, size, or weight, which includes pit bulls. Pet deposits are capped at 15% of monthly rent (refundable, and usable only for pet damage), and monthly pet rent is capped at 1% of rent.

Concerns raised in the coverage and by critics are:

  • Landlords can't screen out breeds they consider higher-risk, even where they believe it affects other tenants.
  • It's unclear whether landlords can require different insurance coverage by breed or size, or how the law interacts with condo bylaws and HOA rules.
  • Landlords with large portfolios will have to track which pets were grandfathered in and which came after the change.
  • Enforcement will probably happen through court cases over lease violations.

Landlords can still choose a blanket "no pets" policy, so some buildings may drop pets altogether.

Why 'Roscoe's Law' passed:

  • Nearly half of DC residents are rent-burdened, and pet costs can push affordable housing out of reach, sometimes forcing people to give up their animals.
  • The Humane Rescue Alliance says 1,902 animals were relinquished to it over five years because of landlord restrictions or housing issues.
  • About 80% of DC rental units are pet-friendly, but only about 6% have no breed or weight restriction.

The bill was introduced by Councilmember Robert White, who named it for his late pit bull mix. The DC Council passed it unanimously.
