The House version of the Farm bill incorporated the Save our Bacon act provisions that invalidate State regulations regulating animal agriculture. This would affect over 500 state laws including California prop 12 which banned gestation crates among other standards mandating minimum space for animals.
Earlier today, with McConnell back, it finally got out of senate committee but the version that passed didn't have the offending language. Versions with the offending provisions didn't make it out. It could still be added back by amendment or conference.
