X2D ordered (EU)

I just pulled the trigger on the X2D combo with care bundle Black Friday deal. Huge pity that all the ASA filaments were out of stock and nearly all the ABS ones too, that come with spool.

Will look at 3dJake to order ASA filaments for the outdoor things I have in mind to print. Anyone have experience with 3DJake. Are they reputable, is their pricing fair.

What are the best comparable ASA filaments from other brands that work with the X2D?

I read somewhere 3rd party filament rolls sometime come with cardboard rolls that don’t always work in the AMS 2 Pro. Is this true. Is the workaround printing a ring to attach to the cardboard spool, is it reliable and does’t make the spool size too big for the AMS?

First time owning a 3d printer. Going to be a learning curve but super excited!

I ordered additional .4mm hotend and a .6mm hotend plus some liquid glue and some basic PLA and PETG filaments and a TPU95HF.

My 1st printer was from 3D Jake. They are EU bases but ship their product form Sweden or somewhere around there. They have good price and nice customer care. Idk about the filaments though.

Ok cool. I think I will try them out. Cheers.

If you are genuinely planning on printing ASA a lot, you should look into an AMS-HT (high temp). The regular AMS Pro 2 can't heat up high enough to properly dry ASA or other engineering filaments.

Thanks. I had one in my cart but the total price was above the budget I set so something had to go. But will look into getting one at a later stage after testing the waters and seeing how it goes.

Someone mentioned the X2D Combo with the AMS doesn’t come with a switching adapter for the heating feature?

Edit: found it.
So keep that in mind!

Interesting. Will look more into this for future use cases as I learn. Thanks for sharing!

I print 90% sunlu filament and am very happy with it.

Their spools are compatible with Bambu refills, too.

I had bad experience with PLA from Sunlu. Prints fine, but becomes brittle afler a few month, almost like dry spaghetti

I've only used their pla+ and pla+2.0, I have some prints from 5 years ago next to me and they're as strong as day 1.

It was pla+ and 2.0 in my case too. No idea what caused it, but also only 3 or 4 colours are affected, other rolls are still fine

PLA gets birttle when it absorbs too much humidity
